Default Is it possible to record chat logs?

    Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. Tried to search the knowledgebase, but the link doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone know if it's possible to record chat logs from within DDO? This is possible with some MMORPGs, but not with others. Other than simple cut and paste, is it possible to automatically log conversations in an external text file?

    Thanks!

    Default Not likely.

This question comes up every now and then. The short answer is "Not Currently". You could screen shot or cut and paste, but there isn't built in way to record your Chat Log. There are just too many windows. General, Guild, Party, Advice... ALL. Turbine never put in anything to record or save those. At least not in PLAYER clients. I don't doubt for a second the GMs can view chat logs, but i haven't a clue really.

Every time this comes up. The answers fall flat.

Might not give you the answer you were looking for OP, but at least you know it was read and talked about before. Your not the only interested person.

    Hi Reverand,

Thanks so much! This is very helpful. As long as I can cut and paste to another application, I should be fine.

Youll just have to use <cntl +c> to copy and <cntl + v> to paste.

Bummer... I would have thought they would have made this possible by now. *shrug*
