Default RPG's you once loved, and still do.

    Rpgs you loved. List em.

    Mine:

    • Legend of Dragoon (ps1, 4 discs... epic)
    • Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Shadows (PS2, after playing Aion I realized they didnt rip off WoW, they ripped of this)
    • Strife. OLD pc game based on the doom 1 engine that was a GENIOUS blend of rpg and fps. If you can get it, do so.
    • KoToR. Nuff said.

+1 to anyone who beat LoD (all four discs) and who even played Strife.

Funny enough I disliked FF(anything) immensely. Did not like SoM, Star Ocean, or alot of other big ones

Another question for you guys is what is that one game you enjoyed but you bet non of us have ever heard of? I will have to go with Strife. If they remade it for next-gen I would shell out $60 for it the day it came out.

Golden Sun. It's the best RPG, period.

Another one that I really, really liked was Skies of Arcadia. Wish I could find a copy.

Hmm, Golden Sun I think I have seen. When I read Skies of Arcadia it started an itch... now I have to look it up.

KoToR (original) was just great (IMHO) in all regards... cept it had bugs. And crashed. And some of the fights were friggin ridiculous. KoToR II sucked IMHO.

It also reminded me of another game that was so hard I could not beat the second "zone"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Leg...e_Hand_of_Fate <- words cannot describe this game. Epic maybe?

Mine are Final Fantasy 6 , Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Blue star Complete. I just loved Lunar's item bios they were just so **** funny hehe. I think "Rusty knife : One step up from a butter knife!" was one of them or close to it hehe.

Yeah I played Skies of Arcadia for a while and I LOVED it but because i was just borrowing the dreamcast i didn't get to play it for long

I just have to thank all of you so much for reminding me of Kyrandia... I need to go get it now.It was drop dead funny, frigging Epic. AND possibly the BIGGEST Mindscrew you will EVER encounter. Bet NON of you have even heard of it. Some of the puns were just... ya..

I enjoy RPGs more then others. For me its RPG->FPS->Hack n Slash->other. At least for Non MMO's. I admit I played Kingdom Hearts. It wasn't that bad.

Egads... I am only 18 but I remember games like the King's Quest series.. oh god the memories are wonderful.

But really, look into Kyrandia Book 2. You won't regret it. Or you might.

KOTOR 2 was a much better story but was nuetered by removing a lot of the story.

I have not downloaded it but check this out.

I also really liked the original Bard's Tale. That 10' x 10' room with 396 Berzerkers (4 groups of 99) in it was awesome!

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

TBH, I think I would have enjoyed KoToR II much more. But eh, The version I got crashed fatally (and wouldn't go past the crash part) about 5 times and different points... never even got 40% through the game I think.. I just could not bring myself to start over yet another time.

NWN... how could I forget... The Xmen Legends game was decent as well. (RoA, not the first one, I didn't play XML 1)

How old are those games? I know not a single one.. sounds like I have missed out... Cept Bard's Tale, I know of that one.

Personally, I find the combat dull and often annoying. As for the story, it just cannot capture my interest after 6+ hours of gameplay so I give up on it each time (and the dialogs are cheesy or weird sometimes). When you combine the two, it makes it really hard for me to push myself to see if the game gets any better later on.

When a metacritic score of 93, it must be doing something right but I am having zero fun with it, personally.

They made a Gamecube remake for the game. If you have a Gamecube and have a better luck than me at finding a copy, you might find the game.

They were old SSI / AD&D games from late 80's early 90's.

They were using an old engine called Gold Box.

They also did a couple other games same engine, Savage Frontier Series (Gateway to the Savage Frontier, Treasures of the Savage Frontier, Neverwinter Nights for AOL). Buck Rogers Series (Countdown to Doomsday, Matrix Cubed) and finally SpellJammer. DragonLance series (Champions of Krynn, Death Knights of Krynn,
    The Dark Queen of Krynn).

Does Grand Theft Auto (III, vice city, san andreas) count as an RPG? If so, those

I also really like Might and Magic 8 as you could toggle between turn based and active DDO-like combat.

    Wizardry 6,7 and 8 & Baldurs Gate 1&2.

I really tried to like NWN, IcewindDale etc, but somehow they never felt like "real" to me...so I played them once, and then never again.

My 3 favorite RPG's in no particual order, PlaneScape Torment, Vampire Masquerage: Bloodlines, and the Fallout Series.

I also love old school RPG's Demon Winter, Shard of Spring, Darklands, etc. I also enjoyed Elder Scrolls the original game, Gothic Series (kicks the crud out of any of the modern Elder Scroll games like oblivion), the entire Wizardry series was good, Arx Fatalis, alot of the Might and Magic Series, Divinte Divinity, Temple of Elemental Evil, etc.
