Id like to play with my friend

Hi

I have a problem:

Playing from two different computer, same IP because we see internet thru same router.
We make characters on "Sarlona" but we do not see eachother in village. (/tell messages still works.)

We se different other players.

We played fine yesterday but after we travel to the next town by sea the same thing happened at stormreach.


Can somebody give me an advice how we can play together ?

My guess is that you are both in different instances.

If you look up at the mini map in the top-left corner of the screen, you'll see (just above that) the map label - something like Harbor-1 or Marketplace-2. Both of you have to have the same text - the same instance - to be able to see each other.

To change the instance, there's a little drop-down arrow (all things being well) to the right of the text. Drop the arrow down to select a different instance, preferrably the one your friend is in.

A friend of mine and I play the same way and we're consistently in different instances.

we could make a party and sometimes I see him on map when he moves (short flashing)
if we share a mission, in the dungeon we see eachother well

I've heard from another player that was unable to switch between instances - didn't even have the drop-down arrow. He wasn't able to resolve it in the time that I talked to him. The only thing I could suggest is to try to go to a different area (i.e. Harbor, Marketplace) and see if you have the same issue... I'm guessing you do. Or you might try to logout and log back in to see if that helps.

If you can see each other in dungeons, seeing each other in the common areas isn't that big a deal - though it makes a few tasks (i.e. trading) a little more difficult. I can't say I would be happy with the situation either.

It was a temporary error

I was unable to avoid it. I tried to create new char/logging out/restart game client/restart system etc.

One weak later when we played together again. It worked fine and we were able to change instance.
