    Default A couple of suggestions for Rangers and Monks

    I have a couple of suggestions I would like to throw out there. Please feel free to comment as you see fit.

    Rangers:
    I know the new Tempest change really ticked people off. Specificly the change to the AC bonus from an untyped bonus to a Sheild bonus. People were arguing that the off-hand weapon wasn't really a sheild and I'll have to agree. I suggest changing the AC bonus to a "Parrying" bonus. That seems more in line with what one would be doing with the off-hand weapon anyway. Discuss..

    Monks:
    I believe the monk buffs need to be looked at. All other spell effects in the game gain in power and/or durration as the character levels. Monk buffs however, stay the same. I would suggest having either the buffs increse in durration as a monk leves (ex: 1 minute for every 4 monk levels), or increse in power (Ex: Walk the Sun adds +1 to hit for ever 4 monk levels). I think the durration would be the easiest to implement.

    What do you guys think? I would like a Dev to chime in if possible if these things seem out of wack.

    It is not called a shield bonus because of how it gives bonus, but to prevent stacking exploitation.

    This was partially a balance change and partially an exploit fix.

    The exploit fix was to prevent Tempest AC from stacking with a shield.

    The balance change was preventing Tempest AC from stacking with the Shield spell (cast from a clicky or a wand with UMD).
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I can definatly understand the exploit fix, as a sheild should not be counted as a weapon (it might be coded that way in game, I'm guessing) therefor the bonus should only apply when weilding 2 weapons. But why put the nix on the sheild spell? +4 AC for 60 seconds really should not be a make or break situation.

    yeah there are several shield clickies that are higher then level 1 and then the ones with high UMD using wands.

    Matter of balance, you are giving up shield ac to have more dps from TWF.

    ok.. all good points about tempest bonus. If it is a case of balance, I can understand.

    So what about the monk buffs? Extended time as a monk levels, or more power to the buffs?
