    Default 3d

Just a note to let everyone know, the new Nvidia 3D Driver Effects work Very well with DDO! I'm using the free Red-Blue 3D enabled drivers in Windows 7, and it works very, very well with Full Screen (only) DDO. It seems to cost about 5 - 10 FPS for full 3D enabled game.

It gives a whole new "Dimension" to the game! (ouch)

For those who might be curious if the Nvidia Red/Blue 3D is a gimmick or not, well here are links to 3 pictures taken off my monitor screen. For some reason the print screen function does not work with the Red/Blue effect turned on, but taking a picture of the screen DOES work (Just looks a little fuzzy). It's a bit hard to see from a still picture, if there's some interest I'll try recording some video which will make it more viewable. You'll need a pair of those smart looking Red/Blue Glasses to seem them.

Anyone with Windows 7 & latest Nvidia drivers can enable this as of driver version 190 I believe. Now if only ATI could do something like this so I could upgrade...

I've tried them, but not with DDO. They work very, very well, and are able to keep all the colours are pretty good, just a bit dimmer. Until I have the $$ for the glasses, monitor & new video card I'd need to make that work, I'll be using the red/blue 3D.

Heh I have the video card, but not the glasses or monitor, and I would need to update to Windows 7 (using XP right now and I don't believe that the drivers exist for the 120hz 3D effects for XP).

Talking GeForce 3D Vision and DDO...

The GeForce 3D Vision glasses work very well with DDO. The depth perception that you get in the game is amazing. I played for about 45min. before see what other people have said about them. I would say that if you have the chance to play with them, it's worth every penny. It truly does bring game play to a whole new level. My only complaint is the charater building process. When you are allocating your stats, etc., it is hard to focus on your character in the back ground, however, the actual game play and interaction is awesome.

How well does it work in non-linear or semi-obscured places though?

    1) Coal Chamber
    2) Rainbow (specifically, the pit jump where there's the cube trap)

    Thelanis - Kyrven Blade 20 FvS (melee/heal)
Thelanis - Kyrse 20 Monk (dark) (current main)
