Hello, I'm a new player trying to get off korthos island, but i have a problem. Every time I talk to the first mate i get a message telling me "Content is downloading. Try again later." however there is now downloading bar like i did when i downloaded The Beach and Korthos. A friend told me he got a downloading screen, which didn't happen to me ether.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong, or how to fix it?

It sounds like you have completed the Misery's Peak storyline. If so, you need to talk to the Captain before the first mate. The Captain is standing on the north end of the same dock.
Basically, you need to close out the story before it'll let you proceed. A number of people (including myself) have had this problem.It occurs to me that the dice are being rolled by the same computer that's trying to kill me. It knows all the moves - it's just toying with me.

I have been having this same problem! I spoke to the captain and closed out the quest, and everytime I talk to the first mate the same thing happens. There is no loading bar or anything. I have tried restarting the game, and it still won't work. It's quite frustrating.

My fiance is having this issue too......if we have to "uninstall" and "reinstall", does it save your character you created on the server? Or do we have to backup some files to not lose any data/progress? Basically, can we uninstall, then reinstall, and as long as we have the username/password, she'll not lose her character or progress?
Thank you in advance....this is causing us some grief and rather than trying to 'fix' it, we'll just uninstall/reinstall and hope that helps.....very frustrating cuz she was part of my "party" when I went through, then it wouldn't allow her through to Stormreach with the error folks are speaking of in this thread.....

Your character is kept on the servers 100%, so is all your account information. All you need to retain - that is, remember - is your username / password. You could go to a completely separate machine, install DDO, and have access to your character and all your account options.
Hope you get it worked out - this is a fun game!
