Going Monk 5 to rogue 1 problem

A friend added rogue 1 to his lv 5 monk and lost all his ki (showing -4) and can not use any of his monk skills. My question is, is this normal or is it a known issue, and how to fix?

Your friend is not centered

He must not wear light armor, a shield or any non-ki weapons (nothing but handwraps, qs and kamas). Regardless of being proficient, doing any of those things will disable his monk abilities.

Assuming he wears acceptable equipment (and does not have encumbrance issues) he can use any and all abilities of the rogue.

[Inspire]

In order to be able to gain Ki you have to be centered. This means you cannot be wearing Armor or Shields and you must be using Ki weapons like Kamas, Quaterstaves, and Handwraps. You also must not be over a medium weight load.

Thanks for the replys. He got totally un equiped, had a weight limit under 25% and it is still showing him as -4 ki, sounds like hes buged to me , ill get him to submit a ticket.

He needs to get his concentration up. The -4 ki mean he is losing 4 ki every X amount of time. With higher Concentration this is reduced. I also believe that a higher concentration allows you to maintain a higher base of Ki (The lowest it will fall to)
Sorry for the vagueness. I haven't played a monk for over a year, and i forget the terminology.
