Seems strange to me that you would eant just anyone to join a guild before any interactions between parties involved....

I have not been playing long but have noticed that some avoid none guilded players. I have also had some guilded players invite a few of my various alts and have had a good time. But I have also had some groupings that just didn't work and shortly after finish quest have left group..

People are all different and have varying ideas of hoe to play game or run a guild.
Just the same over zealous recruitment is annoying at least and a silly thing to get mad over in the overall picture

JMO take it or leave it, but both sides need to calm down and figure out a compromise ..................

Your guild spams are less than 5 minutes. I makes a job of helping a headache. Stop it and earn your people by HELPING YOURSELF, instead of being part of the problem.

If your guild is as great as you say it is, and your intentions are of fellowship etc etc, you will attract players without having to spam. Your spam will cause people to treat you unkindly.

Okay, I'm gonna walk away from this thread now. My sense of humor has faded - and that is when things get a little more... interesting.

Smokey, I have nothing against you or your guild beyond your recruiting tactics. I'm sure you're a nice guy, brimming with redeeming features. However, how you conduct yourself in the game and on the forum has left me with zero interest in finding out. Your solution to people complaining about your spamming seems to be... more spam. Well, that and to go off on Castro-esque rants that really are a monument to incoherence. It's like reading some form of Epic-length Haiku.

People like you are why I turn off General Chat in the Harbor, Marketplace, and on Korthos. I'll let you draw from that what you will... and after reading your responses all along I'll lay down good money on you just not getting my point.

This thread is like total WIN!

It brings back feelings of Nostalgia. Memories of Euphonia, Goodblade quests, doing the low road just to get into the next part of the harbor, when elite goodblades harbor quests wiped groups because of the spiders. And Smokey's Guild blind inviting people right and left, spamming invites as you are doing quests, as soon as you got off the boat, etc. I always wondered if Smokey became a plat farmer, as he has the same marketing methodology.

So....here's a thought ( I hate to insert a bit of logic into a board discussion), but here i go.

Smokey, you should be commended for having a guild built on fellowship and fun. I love the fact that there is a guild that takes new players, no questions asked.

On the other hand, you should also listen and respect the position that a lot of veteran players are posting about. This is a very small community, and things we do affect others. If a number of people are indicating that every 5 minutes is bothersome, then consider making it every 15 minutes or so. Why not work with the community instead of at cross purposes.

Your guilds rep should be important to you. Help foster a positive image. Just a thought.

I see what you do for our comunity as a service. Kind of like the "driver of the short bus." And I'm pretty sure if you agree to the terms of my truth, most of the server will honor it too. See none of us want to drive that "short bus." So as long as you are, we can just all send the pileontarded players too you. Then there would be no need for you to spam in general.

Spamming general chat is equivelent to the "short bus driver" laying on his horn! Annoying!
