Total-OMG!, Bunker... Tommy was, like, so totally last week. Kay? I mean, seriously. Everybody's talking about how Mandy and Diane are like totally fighting, and it's like so over nothing, I mean so what if Diane was talking to Trig who is supposed to be Mandy's like boyfriend hello, and Jessica saw them like so almost hold hands at lunch when Mandy was absent to get her braces tightened. And then, Diane's locker had that dead goldfish dropped into it at the end of school yesterday and now all of Diane's books and brand new purse and iPod smell like day old dead fish - and everyone so totally knows Mandy did it, right? But Trig and Diane were just talking about Math homework - and even if they did almost hold hands Trig is a total horndog and everybody but Mandy knows it so her and Diane are like so totally fighting over nothing.

What I find sad is that a guy gets all this BS thrown his way for trying to help people, god forbid all the random newb questions get asked in guild chat rather than general. Ill admit I squelched him to, because I got tired of seeing the guild message. But then I also squelch every person who makes a chuck norris joke, calls people noobs, or deliberately answers questions wrong in advise channel. All you have to do is squelch him and your annoyance with him is over, there is no reason to degrade someone because you think your better than him at a computer game. At the end of the day your not any cooler for doing it.

He doesn't HELP. He hinders helping by spamming the general chat. When asked politely to stop, he releases at a greater rate. THis isn't the first offense either.

I have to agree with a poster a few back that talked about removing general chat from your regular viewing window.

I agree that every 5 minutes is overkill, annoying, totally unnecessary etc. etc. So stop reading it. Almost all of the players that have come out against this tactic and guild are players who have been established forever and are getting their communication in guild or party or other dedicated House channels rather than general chat anyway.

Can Smokey man up a bit and stop being difficult - sure - but sometimes the best way to deal with the annoying guy is to just ignore him...and walk away.......

I wish it is that easy, but many of us watch General to help new players. I have been doing it off and on since the Mod came out. It is bad enough we get the "My lvl2 Warrior pwns fishman needs rouge, lol!" comments every five minutes, but to have one of our own spamming is annoying and, quite frankly, a little embarrassing.

well, one reason the guild had their rep on thelanis in old days was due to incessant blind inviting of noobs.

the problem was spamming blind invites wasn't limited to just the guild leader. people in guild were made officers for a time according to the number of new recruits they brought into the guild. this was the main focus when you were added to the guild, invite as many people as you can no matter who it is.

the spamming used to be worse because multiple people were doing it.

3 years ago Everyone Blind Invited into their guilds.
There are guilds active now that still do.
My guild doesn't anymore and will never do it again.
We invite people into our fellowship and they ask me to join all the time.
But hey man, I'm not saying your guild names that blinded my alts into your guild..
For all of you that are dragging the past of 3 years ago up on me..
Hey do your thing.. People love my guild
And I welcome anyone new to our great guild of fellowship.
Even the DDO people love my guild because we convert F2P into VIP members.
So don't quest with us.. Soon, maybe, you may not have a choice.
