    Default DPS Trapmonkey Build

Hey guys. Unlocked Drow recently and I figured I would give a rogue a try in the character builder.

The thing is, I hate using piercing weapons. I always feel completely useless when I fight undead (due to the lack of sneak attack working, in addition to the high resistance to piercing on skeletons and zombies).

The idea of this build was to have something that is able to do pretty good sneak attack damage, but also upfront fighting.

My only concern is that it's too squishy. With only 16 Constitution, I picked Toughness and got the Racial and first tier of Fighter toughness feats, 260 hp without gear or spells.

    Anyways, here's the build:

Thoughts? Khopesh is something I haven't really ever had a character use, and I figure it's better than focusing on a piercing weapon (though endgame dps may not be as good as a drow, since I could use a shortsword/rapier for the racial bonus) for enemies that can't be sneak attacked. Shrug.

    Anyways, input is always welcome!

Although, looking at some other threads and looking back on it, I was really hard pressed to find any reason to splash fighter. I used Oversized TWF and Weapon Focus: Slashing as my fighter bonus feats, but if I were to roll this as a human I could likely manage to make it work just as well, without splashing the fighter levels. All I would lose from the Fighter side would be 10 HP and 1 strength... thoughts?

Well, I wouldn't argue against the 19th level of Rogue but Fighter 1 gives you all the martial weapon proficiencies. For a strength build this offers more flexibility.

    Examples:
More choices for pure vorpals than sickles.
Scimitar and Kukri - the other Weakening of Enfeeblers and Smiters.
Warhammer - Cause it's still better than a heavy mace.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

Well I've decided to drop the extra level of fighter (more sneak attack damage that way, plus another rogue feat, too).

    1 - TWF
    2 (Fighter) - OTWF
    3 - Khopesh
    6 - Toughness
    9 - ITWF
    12 - Improved Crit: Slash
    15 - GTWF
    18 - ???

Thinking Dodge for the last one, or maybe Nimble Fingers/Skill Focus: UMD?

Rogue class feats are going to be:

    10 - Crippling Strike
    13 - Slippery Mind
    16 - Improved Evasion
    19 - Defensive Roll

Hard to tell what I'll need at what level, since my highest is currently level 8, but I suppose we'll see in the end.

Warhammer - Cause it's still better than a heavy mace. Meh.

I'd go PA myself. Barring that; Pure rogues Achillie's heel is the will save. With a +2 tome and +6 item, you could floor a Cha of 18, helping your UMD, Diplo, and giving you a +4 to will saves with Force of Personailty.

I just noticed you put next to nothing as far as ranks in Diplomacy. You're going to want it on a rogue. Especially a Str-based one. Very badly.

Noted. I'll raise Diplo in place of Jump, and put what's left over in Jump instead of the other way around.

PA? And yeah, I may take Force of Personality then, if I can manage a +2 charisma tome.

Scimitar and Kukri - the other Weakening of Enfeeblers and Smiters. Scimitars are going for as high as rapiers with the new Valenar enhancements for elves. So, really no gain other than kukri. The cost of scimitars is still nowhere near as bad as rapiers. Rapiers = Bidding against every DEX and STR based character. Scimitars = Bidding against STR based characters. Also, in the case of WoE’s you’ve cut out all non melee splashed rogues.
Warhammer - Cause it's still better than a heavy mace. Meh. It’s still not a bad upgrade that comes free with any melee class splash. Martial Weapon Proficiency: Warhammer > Cheat Death.
    You’ve been downgraded to orange.

PA = Power Attack. Yes, you will want this feat. Assassins build up a very high to hit with sneak attacks. So when you don't have sneak attack you have the bonuses to spend on this for extra damage. When you don't have sneak attack you’ll most likely see whiff messages until you score a crit with your radience II weapon or the monster goes to attack someone else.

Force of Personality. You need a 13 CHA to pick up this feat. If you’re willing to grab an INT tome from the DDOstore you could do a 15 INT/11 CHA at character creation to make this happen.

What feat from the ones I listed would you suggest I drop? If I'm to take both Power Attack and Force of Personality.
