I wrote the initial post while I was angry and shouldn't have. It was decidedly impulsive and in poor judgment.
I do not take personal issues that I have with individuals up with GM's as I regard it as between me and the individual. Having said that, the facts haven't been disputed; they've been qualified. Furthermore, where 'trashing' is concerned, I dispute that characterization. It was likely ill-advised for me to have made the generalization that I did , but my dispute was not at odds with the facts, whereas the charge from *kally of slander and malicious intent was factually in error. Specifically. . .
All I did after dropping was apologize to the members of my guild who were in the raid, explaining why I'd dropped. After I'd done so, some of them dropped from the raid and we went to Amrath.
The fact is, *kally is a superb, intelligent player and I liked running with him. Nevertheless, I don't drop from groups because my guild is starting something I'd rather run because I feel an obligation when I double-click to join a party. When I'm forming a raid, I go with the first people who ask to join (within the parameters of my lfm) and where its assembly is overly hasty, I ask for voluntary relogging or we go as we are. I have never booted someone from a raid or party. Undoubtedly this means that I'll have a harder time with my completions, but that's the price one pays for doing the right thing.
While someone else's raid or party assembly is proceeding, I've dropped because someone long ago joined and there was a guild policy that we not group with him (some here may recall the VoN6 Helm dispute from a few years ago on Aundair), but that's in the past, a previous guild and I'm happy to group with him on his new account, now.
That you've seen to it to ensure that this will not happen again is a meaningful gesture of public goodwill, and I salute you for it. Again though, my dispute was not with your guild, but with *kally's action, and as I've already stated, I regard him as a player of enormous talent and intellect. I certainly took issue with something he did, dropped from a raid because of it and then (admittedly in poor judgment) took issue with him here over it. Having made my statement of objection though, I put it behind me and hope you'll all be willing to do the same.
