Thumbs up Spell Components Bags, please?

I know this has probably been mentioned before, but it would be really great to have a bag for spell components. I don't think it would be all that hard to create one, and wouldn't even need that many slots considering they would just need enough slots for each spell level.

This would make a caster's backpack go a bit farther.

    Thumbs up

I agree. It would also help to organize them by spell level - similar to how the collectibles bags organize by who you can turn them in to.

There's a bag for enchantment/crafting stuff, which I would think is of lesser priority than spell components considering how little crafting there is in this game.

Yeah, when I saw Medium Gem, Collectibles, and Components bags in a store in House J I thought the components bag was for spell components. I doubt it's for item crafting, since so many crafting components get gathered by the Collectibles bag.

Edit: eep. Seems I was wrong. It was just an ingredients bag for item crafting. Weird...

if it is, thx for mentioning it again.

casters have to carry a lot of scrolls, many of them may be for buffing the other people. We don't have enough backpack space and need Spell Component Bags!

    Exclamation

100% agree. I was actually going to start a thread on this but luckily thought to do a search first.

It isn't fair that casters have to waste so many valuable inventory slots.

What about a scroll case? Or a wand case?

It's ridiculous that a wand or scroll or a piece of bat **** occupies the same amount of inventory space as a suit of full plate.

I am not saying that I would not like this. I would really... However, being level 19 and having 9 different components along with 9 heal wands etc for curing and about 10 different scrolls for restoration, raise dead, heal etc.. I still have 34 open slots in my inventory. Would I like an additional 8.. Sure why not... I even carry potions for blindness, disease, curse, wands of lesser restoration, poison ( for others ).

Not sure what you all are carrying so much, but even if I kept pots of resist and prot on me I would still have 24 open slots. Plenty for any quest...

Spell components- and potions- and scroll-bags...there you would have a real top-seller in the DDO store.

    I'd buy that for sure.

Think this was mentioned along with quivers as a technical issue they were working on. But hey, they got quivers working, so hopefully we'll see these too!

I agree on a bag or "scroll tie" for scrolls, since that makes sense, but the spell components stack to 1000 don't they?

We are actually talking about bags inside of a bag, since technically you are carrying everything around in 5 different bags (if you have 150 coin lord favor and got the 5th bag)

Then what's the point of a gem bag or an ingredients bag? Who needs a quiver? Arrows do stack after all.

The last Official Word we had on this, and the Question has been asked several times now, is that they have a technical problem, where they cannot get the Spell System to look inside your Spell component Bag to see if you have the required spell component to cast the spell.

What would be even more awesome I think is a warning if any if your spell compenents inside the bag got below 100 for any component. Only problem I see with them is out of sight out of mind would hate to run out becaue I forgot to look in my bag every now and then to check stock.

That's bizarre. It shouldn't be difficult at all, presuming that you have a function that will check someone's inventory recursively. If they don't, they should. If you're already checking inside bags (someone's inventory) then unless the actual bags are not implemented in the same fashion codewise, it'd be cake to add two lines of code to check bags inside bags. and even bags inside bags inside bags, although that would be going too far to need.

If they need dev help, I suppose I could help.

    Lightbulb spell component bag

These are needed for the high level caster who carries a lot of scrolls for example.....but Turbine may just want you to buy the mnemonic pots instead of using scrolls that need a bag. Either way, a spell component bag would be nice.
