    Default 28 pt monk build?

i have been searching the forums for a monk 28pt build and haven’t been able to find one

i can check any other class forum and find at least 5 builds on the first page
are monks hard to play using a 28pt build?

i am rather new to ddo and don’t know allot of the feats or much about the stats i know the starting stats are important and the 3 paths at character screen rather suck end game can anyone post a link to some builds or post some of the common builds for 28pt if there are any

thanks for any help in advance

This is a drow so not sure if you'd consider it a 28 pt build, and i've only gotten to lvl 7 so far but it seems to be able to keep up with most other melees

The Halfling Guile (+8 sneak damage) paired with Unbalancing Strike (vulnerable to sneak attacks regardless of aggro) is like having an extra 16 strength against most mobs in the game. Way of the Elegant Crane fills your Ki bar quickly as being without ki is reducing your power very significantly... all monk special attacks and abilities are powered by Ki except Empty Body and Slow Fall.

    Default 28 point human

I went with the human 28 point monk (no tomes) since I'm a broke noob.

    I did this
    14 str
    16 dex
    14 con
    8 int
    14 wis
    8 cha

    for start feats (3)
    two weapon fighting
    toughness
    power attack

as soon as you get an action point talk to the trainer and get the disciple of breezes and have you wind stance on all of the time.
the next elemental I pick up is Earth but only for the strike since it is a constant 4 extra damage rather than 1d6 (avg of 3.5)
you don't need to be in the stance to use the strike

I always pick up the concentration monk enhancements. and you will want to get all of the 1st level stances for the strikes.
save up action points for lvl3 though as you will need a few to spend 2 for monk wisdom and another for fist of light. yes take the way of light.
as they become available pick up the special healing skills (rmove disease , remove curse, ect)
    -----

take all of tis with a grain of salt from a lvl5 noob monk but this has been working wonders for me. Once I got the fist of light everything started falling into place. I find myself spamming fist of lights all the time even on trash mobs that drop after 2 or 3 hits. you usually get 1 or 2 health om them but it also charges your healing finishing move. when you get that glowy lightning saying the finish move is active make sure you have enough ki to use it before you try or you waste it. Heck I found that FOL even works on some breakable things. I FOL'ed the crates in clear the air and get health back everytime I struck the crate (something like 10-13 health per crate)
A lot of time I find myself taking off power attack just to get more attacks in on trash mobs so I can get more ki and more healing.

I ran the guard chriton kill 200 kobolds on normal by myself and never went more than 15 health below max.

Default 28 point monk : tatics

I should give some advice about tactics a well.
Casters are your worst problem. I found that when opening a door if you alert the mobs inside then step to the side and let the melee come out you can take care of them, then run in and take out the casters it save you a whole lot of health.
If you don't have a choice and have to go in against a group I found it is bets to run around or jump over the hand-to-hand guys to get to the casters and take them out first.

also I should note that I did take mobility but many here say it is worthless. I find it a big help here at low levels when you get fear cast on you or get swarmed. With fear I just roll around to get the AC bonus till I can start attacking again, plus you can usually find a way to get around a corner to stop the spells from raining down on you while you take out the non casters. I'll probably regret the choice later (that is why I didn't recommend it in the starting feats) but for now I find it functional.

be sure to use your elemental strikes at the right places fire strike vs ice mephits and ice spiders and the like.

always be sure to have a batch of ranged weapons on you for the high up immobile casters and those darn kobold shamans that jump up backwards to crazy float in the air places you can't reach them.

soon as you hit lvl 3 and have your FOL run the waterworks chain till you get the black widow bracers which are a huge help.
    -----
    edit add:

everytime you log in be sure to reactivate your wind stance. the hotbar icon makes it look active but you won't see the effect on in you active buff display in the upper right corner. you need to turn it "off" then back on for it to work. I have gotten caught a couple times going 'man I seem to be slow ' whne I jump into a dungeon right after logging in then realizing I didn't trun on my wind stance properly.

    ERROR , ERROR!!
sorry I mis-spoke when I said the path of light. I meant to say path of harmonious balance!

Ok I am using this build and it is working very well, thank you! I am having one issue I just made level 6 and when I attempt to take the power attack feat it doesn't allow me There is a str requirement on power attack of 13 and from what I understand this is without armor. With my Armor my Str is 15 but I guess the requirement is raw stats. Is there any way to get around this? does a tome work?
Please I appreciate ANY assistance I am stuck.

    Default Pa

yeah it needs to be a "natural" 13 for power attack.
so equip bonuses won't meet your start reqs.

Also note that a +1 STR tome was used at lvl 5. A tome will fix it.
