Default New Player Looking for Guild.

Heyas everyone. I am Borldain and I recently d-loaded the free version of D and D online to give it a try. I am not new to the MMORPG scene, as I have been playing WoW for the last 7 years. Before that, I played DAoC and started my online gaming career with Ultima Online. I took a break from WoW 4-5 months ago and I have recently decided to get back into online gaming. I wanted to give D and D online a try before I installed the last expansion for WoW(Wrath of the Lich King) and got absorbed in it.

I wanted to post here and find out which server would be the best choice for me. I am also looking for a guild to join. I am a 41 year old dude and am currently in college majoring in Respiratory Therapy and I need to get back into the mmorpg scene and catch up on the last few months. I would like to get recruited into a guild and adventure with peeps who are already playin' and could help me along the way to learn the game. I am not a "gimme what I need" guildie by any means. I was the GM of 2 different guilds in WoW so I am very familiar with what being a good guildie is all about and the workings of one. The guilds from WoW were/are Evolution from Gurubashi server and The Crescent Moon Clan originally from the Warsong server but when Guru opened we transferred there. CMC had a total of 457 guild members on Gurubashi after the xfer, but on Warsong the number was somewhere around 640+. The WoW guild would only list up to 500 members, so anything over that we had to keep up with ourselves.

I would appreciate any and all replies to this post. I haven't tried a server yet, but I am going to experiment until I find a server to play on or get an invite to a guild. I am either going to make a pally or cleric. I played a hunter as my main on WoW, but I really didn't want to play a ranger here. I think I am going with a pally. The ability to back up heal or main heal with healing build interests me. WoW had a spec for a Retribution Paladin. Ret pallies were able to do tons of damage and fight like a main tank(warrior) but also had offensive spells that hit like a truck and/or buffed the pally to sick proportions.

If anyone is willin' to give me an invite, I would really appreciate it and/or any advice on a server choice for a home would be welcome too. Thanks and I look forward to seeing some of you in-game.

    Wind at your backs......

For a Server Choice, Cannith would probably be one of the best ones to roll a character on. You would be hardpressed to NOT find a group at the lower levels there. It's the newest server, and was character transfers and whatnot were locked to it, so everyone had to start fresh.

For a Guild(if you choose Cannith as your server), Warrior Nation is recruiting. We're looking for a more mature crowd, who can take constructive criticism well. Too many times have I seen players make characters or decisions about their characters that make them completely worthless in teams, and when given advice, they completely shrug it off and think you're insulting them or whatnot.

We have a recruitment thread if you're interested to read more about the guild. It's located here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=199877

If you are still in the market for a guild, I invite you to take a look at House Phoenix (www.covenantofthephoenix.com). We are a well-established, stable, no-drama, casual, mature, family-friendly multi-game guild that has been around for years and active in all major MMOs.

We are currently active on the Cannith server and have a steady group of players who play nightly, are very friendly and helpful, and always focus on having fun.

See what we have to offer. Here's a link to our recruitment thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...=1#post2525968
