Madstone Boots - Caster

I noticed these boots have potency VII, which is better than anything I can get until my dragonarmor, but I heard that there is a hidden random proc rage that the boots give. I was wondering if there was anyway to prevent the rage proc from occurring, since I'd like to be able to keep casting to benefit from the potency.

Procs on hit, last I saw someone said 15% chance or so. If you are a healer/caster, not worth the risk. If you are lawful you can trade/buy for a belt of the seven ideals.

If your only worry is potency, there are many other/better options for a caster/healer than madstone boots. Superior Potency VI weapons drop fairly often, the bard PrE necklaces in the battlefield quests have Superior Potency VI on them.

I tested MSboots out with a "fighten-caster" build, and I find it to be annoying in all but a few circumstances- Mainly, I am out of mana, and just need to fight...so the potency VII is not really much of a benefit at all.

For the most part, I just give the boots to a guildy that needs it when I find these in the end chest.
