Default Monks w/ TWF Tree + FoB

Hi all, new to the game and I was browsing around the forums and asking in the advice channel and I wanted to confirm something below. I'll just state my understanding and leave it up in the air to be confirmed/shot down.

-Using handwraps only, monks will benefit from the TWF tree in terms of extra attacks, and this does not conflict in any way with FoB.-

Most of what I've seen on the forums confirms that TWF-GTWF are mainstays for almost any monk and that they do stack, but I heard differently in the advice channel and I've seen some people dispute the fact via combat logs vs. animations.

What I'm a little unclear on is how the TWF line adds onto FoB. Does the initial TWF aid in any way with attack rolls using handwraps or no handwraps? How are the extra attacks on TWF rolled using STR, if there is anything special to that calculation at all?

flurry of blows does not grant extra attacks on ddo; it provides full bab with flurry-capable weapons, instead (like a permanent divine power when you're using kamas, handwraps, or quarterstaffs) .. also, you must be using such weapons to use all monk stances, ki moves, and recieve nearly all other monk benefits outside the wis bonus to ac.

twf with handwraps works differently than with all other weapons; it simply adds more attacks, with no offhand attack penalties to hit or half str bonus or anything

twf for monks is, therefore, a no-brainer, as it nearly doubles the amount of attacks you do in the same span when using handwraps.

Thanks, that clears everything up for me! I knew I couldn't trust just anyone on the advice channel

Straight from Dev post (Covers TWF and FoB).

    Eladrin Said

"All weapon styles should have the same number of main hand attacks per minute if you stand there holding down the attack button. (Except monk unarmed combat, which is around 10-12% faster. Flurry of blows!)"

    "Monk:
TWF adds additional attack hooks on attacks #2 and #4.
ITWF adds additional attack hook on attack #3.
GTWF adds additional attack hooks on attacks #1 and #4."

Patch two slightly alters the number of attacks....

"Greater Two Weapon Fighting now grants only an extra off-hand attack on the first attack animation instead of the first and fourth. This affects both unarmed monks and two weapon fighting characters."

Monks receives 14 animations in 30 seconds (Unarmed)
Fighter receives 13 animation in 30 seconds (Dual and Single Weapon)

Showing that FoB actually increases Monk attack speed/a war. (And before anyone asks, yes, I remembered to turn off Wind Stance during testing). Both toons used in testing are equivelent level so theres no BaB difference to make up. Mahalo.
