    Default Looking for dysfunctional guild

I have very specific likes and dislikes when it comes to guilds and I was wondering if I could find a niche somewhere on Cannith. Basically, I'm looking for a guild of gentleman idiots.

A guild filled with people who know how to write properly and will never resort to texting abbreviations, yet use their knowledge of the English language to convey nothing of value whatsoever.

A guild in which petty drama is commonplace, even though there are never any bad feelings. So, petty drama simply for the sake of arguing.

A guild in which hierarchy doesn't exist, and the guild master always ends up being the butt of the joke.

A place with a very active guild chat, even if it's mostly filled with the inane ramblings of diseased minds.

A guild, basically, that is just for fun, where all is in good humor. Not for power players, not for casuals, not for raiders, but rather for people with all types of playstyles who gather under the same banner for the sole purpose of being idiots.

It is fairly rare that such a guild appears on a server, but when it does and it sticks together, it is a thing of beauty. So, is there anything like this on Cannith?

    I can't even tell if that's sarcasm.

I know that, from reading this description alone, it would sound like a terrible guild, but in practice it's entirely different. I was officer / guild leader in such a guild on WoW, Feathermoon server. The guild chat was better than any I had seen in other guilds, and it attracted people from all over the server. People from the Alliance rolled Horde alts just to live the experience (which gave birth to the expression "Kill yourself and join The Sidewinder Band"), and we eventually had to put a one alt per player limit. Our officers were known server-wide for our forum posts and general in-game idiocy. Even though we all sucked badly at the game (all our guild groups wiped in the most comical manners in content far below our average level), we were invited to all sorts of raids because of the infamous guild tag under our name.

I know that such a group dynamic is a very rare thing but if there's one player out there reading this and thinking "you know, that kinda sounds like us", please send me a tell in-game.

edit: Actually just leave a name on which I can contact you, just remembered that my forum name and character names are different. Also, I might not want the very nice folks who invited me in their midst yesterday to know that I find their cohesion... somewhat lacking.

Sounds interesting, and as it probably hasn't been done yet, why don't you just start it up, Cannith would be the perfect place. You could call it the Sidwinders in honor of the last post. Or Perhaps The Jesters Court.

This kind of guild I know to be not only fun but is a blast.

I had one away back in the misty waters of DDO as "Squishies Pride"

Nothing was more fun than holding squishy pride parades in the tent

I suggest the OP build such guild, let it be known far and wide.

Who knows, I would probably roll an alt to toss there

Haha, I probably could, but I'm playing this game rather casually, so I wouldn't make for the best guild master.

I was Guild Leader only of name in my last one: the guild master had reworked the rank names so that the three higher officers were called that, and his own rank became his character name. We considered his to be the lowest rank, but he still had all the powers and he was the one who brought people in.

Honestly, I don't think I'm friendly and online often enough to get this project started. That's why I was kind of hoping for an existing guild that would already fit these criteria.

But anyway, I'll think about it and if I do start one, I'll let everyone here know.

A WoW guild I was in, Tiger Team One on Kirin Tor, was just like that. The founders were some sort of liberal arts professors, so their command of excrutiatingly meaningless english had no peer. They would invade elf towns to free elves from their futile suffering in their mortal bodies. pretty casual fun guys. I tried to match them but just couldn't. I had a guy in there for awhile before I stopped playing.
