Galileo Galilei was also viewed as slightly deranged and misguided. Luckily for us we now know the Earth revolves around the Sun. It was through his tribulations and sacrifices that gave us a great leap in physics. No, Malaky is a great man, hero and patriot. Without him we would have no hope of pet dragons and time travel.

Time travel would indeed be a great leap in physics. Once we're done trouncing turbine in our civil action suit, I will be accepting my Nobel Prize

Satire-the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.

I think both definitions apply. So its a satire Satyr.

However, in my defense - sarcasm can be hard to discern in text at times w/o a quote or link in the OP toward the source of the sarcasm. And, ths post really does look like a lot of rants that pop up - so again, hard to tell at times.

But in the end, I was snookered. Oh well.
Sorry I should of stated that a little different. I was meaning that you probably didn't see the other post made by someone who was ranting and raving about all the quests not being solo able.... blah blah blah. So you probably didn't realize the inherant sarcasm built into his thread here. Didn't mean for that to come out sounding like you were to stupid to get it.

This is getting ridiculously out of hand!!!

I'm giving you fair warning: Remove all solo options from the game or I'm going to file a complaint to the BBB. It's very clear that advertising as "dungeon&dragons" while allowing for a solo option is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! This is intended only for the DEVs, so I will ignore all other responses!

If you don't drop everything you're doing (fixing bugs, working on new content, etc) and remove all solo options, I will personally start a campaign to drive players from this game!! Fear me!!!!!!
Really, they should remove 'normal' as well since with dungeon scaling, it is also pretty easy to solo. 'Hard' is the old normal, so its soloable for many quests. Maybe they should remove hard as well. So I guess they need to have 'Elite', 'Super Elite', and 'Mega-Elite' settings only.

Kinda like the small, medium, and large at fast food, instead of the actual size you get the large, x-large, and then the bucket.

Exactly! The small drink was the medium drink, the medium drink was the large drink and the new large, well, in the words of Bill Hicks, "You'll want to pull your truck around back, I'll start the pump."

This is one of the best suggestions yet. Kudos.

then you better prepare to be disappointed,
DDO is unfortunately an MMORPG, a better one, but like All mmorpgs,
they are not really RPGS at all, and you wont find a single drop of RPG in DDO that you couldn't get in greater quantity and even greater quality, by staring at an IRC screen.

People who say D&D cannot, and should not, be played solo are extremely ignorant and get me quite mad.

Solo games in D&D, while not too common, make for awesome game experiences. These games are much different then the normal 5-6 players in a group slaying mobs in a dungeon. Solo games generally require more strategy and thought (if only because there's only 1 person doing the thinking). Solo games, IMO, are the funnest and most rewarding way to play D&D. Yes, I am saying this with 100% truth - no bull ****.

Adverse to what most nubs like the OP think, solo games are NOT PLAYED BY ONE PERSON. Solo games have 1 DM and 1 player, otherwise you would have a **** hard time playing wouldn't you? I highly advise you try this (and if you can't find a DM, PM me and we can set up some IRC playing) and see how fun solo games can be.

Now, for a computer game, you obviously do not need the DM as the computer qualifies for this job. So, it makes perfect sense to have a solo option in a D&D game! I am very very happy with turbine that they did this.

If you think that the solo option is somehow giving solo players an advantage over group players, then you are extremely stupid. I have soloed quite a few instances, and when I group (even if its just with 1 person) I can get through the instance much faster than when I solo it. But, soloing instances are much more fun to me than blazing through the dungeon with a full group, having little difficulty. I can go through the dungeon at my own pace, think through the puzzles without utilizing other people's knowledge of the game, and, ultimately, have fun when I can't find a group (which is pretty common place at my level for some reason (5)).

And if you think the solo option doesn't give solo players an advantage over group players, but are simply complaining because you dislike the thought of soloing, take this advice - stop with the holier than thou attitude, open up DDO, and play an instance at your level solo. Its fun. Or, failing that, shut up and let the others solo because it affects you in no way at all.

P.S. If this came across as angry, mean, or whatever, that's because I am pretty **** angry at people saying D&D is not a solo game. I highly suggest you follow all the advice in this post either way.

EDIT: after realizing the OP was joking (just read the first post), I have now clarified this post a message to all people who want soloing out of the game or dislike it

For me if there was no Solo, I would immediatly leave. I am so happy that finally we have a MMO that alaws to play Solo, and what is even better is all those quests where you are alone, not being in a dungeon where 53 grinding idiots waits for the next respawn and have to wait with them hoping you will be the one who does most damage to complete a quest. This is in my eyes the best MMO around in my style! You always advance and adavance. I played also much guild wars that I enjoy much too. Only thing I hate is the FREE to play. I never ever liked micro payments for this or that. Vip is perhaps a tiny more expensive but you have the full freedom all the time.

    Long life to SOLO!
