Greetings,
I thought I should post this now since me and a friend have experienced quite a few strange connection related issues. These do indeed seem to be regarding the client. At least one of the cases.
First my friends issue:
When playing together he suddenly freezes and stays like that for a good 5-8 minutes (unless he kills the ddoclient process manually). Once he is "booted" have can't connect to the gameservers via the launcher. After a few minutes he can connect again and logon and play for a while again until the same happens. He found a workaround to this which isnt the best since it disconnects our communication software as well - He simply take out the network cable from the computer and directly puts it back in. By doing so he directly can move his character again, albet the communication software connection drops which makes him to call me again (skype). Then I have to answer that and I get back to desktop and when I click on DDO again in the taskbar I get back to the game of course but then I suffer from graphic stuttering (which I never have unless tabbing out from DDO)
No my own issue:
When playing (and to be honest quite rarely) I start to see stuttering from lag.. I check my connection details ingame and I see that the lag and packetloss are increasing. This continues until I have around 95% packet loss. At this point I kill the ddoclient process and restart the client and voilá the game works perfectly again. So this is for sure a client related issue, especially since everything else works perfectly except ddo at that point.
To me it really appears like it is a ddo client/server issue since we really didn't have any problems with this until the first official patch for eberron was released.
Should be noted that we both have two totally different isp's.
Looking forward to you responses!
Sincerely!
/Ely
