I just recently finished going through the Korromar quest and was intrigued by the Akuul and Serruul mini-bosses. Does anyone know what kind of creature they are? I've searched all over and the only bit I can find about them is that they are outsiders and what their unique drops are. Are they unique to DDO or Eberron, or are these standard DnD creatures? Just wondering because I don't recall seeing anything quite like them before.

You're dealing with Xoriat associated demons; flesh renders, ice flensers and fire reavers. All 3 are very common in several quest/lines, including Originally Posted by Balliztik

Such mobs are frequently found in proximity to the last of the Xoriat monsters, the Tharakk Hounds. Other mobs closely associated with Xoriat and Xoriat-related quest lines are Beholders (found in many other places, as well) and Mind Flayers.
They are chaotic evil outsiders with drs of good or cold iron or good and cold iron (for the harder ones). Tharakk Hounds instead require lawful rather than good in their DRs.
Many of the quest lines involving demon spawn and devilkin are paid content and so as a free player you will only see them rather sparingly.
