What you could to is find another proxy server on the internet, there are a few free ones out there and use Proxifier to connect to it (I am sure there are other options, this was the one I found and got working in 5 minutes and it was only 40USD so stopped looking).

I wanted this for work so they could not track my internet usage.
How did you configure putty and proxifier to make this work? I've been trying all morning to get the settings right, but DDO keeps returning HTTP 417 to me.

EDIT: Finally got this working - Thanks to Lorad for posting his solution, pointed me in the right direction. +1.

Just thought I would give a reason why, whilst I was scanning the forums to see if others have had luck.

I seem to have a consistent bad hop on my path to the turbine.com server and gls.ddo.com server tonight. It's preventing getting past Getting data centers and also preventing loading the turbine.com site in any browser.

So frustrated, I did all the usual and in the process of troubleshooting this, after local stuff, discussion with ISP, etc. I tested the website connection via a proxy and also via my mobile's 3G connection.

Both the 3G and proxy connections load the turbine.com site fine, with a working path. So if I could easily set up running DDO through a proxy, it would likely let me play tonight whilst someone somewhere fixes some server, or the hops I'm taking start pointing me in a different way around the problem.

How did you get this working/set it up?

I'm using http-tunnel and proxifier but I've had no luck. I've even set proxifier to proxify everything -- the launcher works just fine but the actual game times out when trying to connect to the logon server.

    Thanks for any help!

Setup: DDO loaded on my old XP box with proxy pointing to a WIN7 box running a default install of Squid (3.0 I think).
Win7 box has default network settings to DSL router. No special mappings etc.
I did not get that part. How do I achieve this?
