Default As long as we're complaining about animations...

The THF animations are RIDICULOUS. The wide swings (where the character jumps in the air for no reason) not only look unrealistic/cartoonish, they look absolutely unprofessional.

It looks like the swing is being led by the weapon, like the character is throwing the weapon out while still barely holding onto it.

A good swing is led by the body central mass, twisting the hips and following through strongly with the arms, ending lastly with the business end of the weapon, giving it a whipping, maximum speed.

After you've swung through your target, begin slowing and redirecting the weapon. It is best, if possible, to use the momentum of the first swing to translate into the path of your following swing. That way you're not spending all your energy stopping the weapon just to start it again the opposite direction.

Needless to say, no jumping needs to be involved, especially in side-to-side swings. Our characters should not look like their weapon is "out of control" (unless maybe a halfling with a two hander, hahah).

If you are currently rageing it most certianly should look out of control.

Actually, raging gives you more strength, which provides more control over heavy weapons.

Loss of control while raging applies to your selection of targets (you would see red and not be able to tell friend from foe, attacking nearest target, etc.)

Your enhanced adrenaline would actually improve your performance of your attacks, as you would want to, and have the strength to, damage your opponent in the most brutal and efficient way.

There is a major difference between a person being out of control and a weapon being out of control.

Actually that has nothing to do with the D&D rage spell or D&D barbarian rage which would not in any way prevent you from knowing friend or foe.

Of course that's the case in DDO. I think it was the case in 3.0, but that wasn't really the point I was trying to make....

It is a bit movieish, but where outside of the entertainment sector do you find dwarves swinging a two handed axe as wide as they are across the shoulders?

I am not looking for a lesson in WMA when I log in and see my characters animations. Even so it could be much much worse, and is in some other games.
