    Default Sharn Question

In the quest in the Bank where you have to break the Crystals to exit the Vault. What is the best way to break the Crystals? I hit them with Two Handed sword with my Fighter. Next time I run with my sorc and used Niacs. However, I ran out of spell points before I could break both and ended up hitting with Finger of Fire wand and finally my Quarter staff. It was all my Hireling Cleric could do to keep me healed and fight the defenders. He ran out of Mana too.

I completed the quest both times, but surely there is an easier way.

They dont like force damage. You can get a nice force damage weapon by completing the Sharn quest series.

I think that is supposed to be ironic.

Force weapons and spells (like Magic Missile) work well if I recall. I believe the crystals are considered constructs, so a construct bane weapon would help. I haven't tried an Adamantine Weapon in there, so not sure it would help any.

Next time in, click on the crystal and examine it, it will tell you what it is and perhaps another hint or two.

even solo with scaling you will still run out of SP long before you kill the two crystals with magic missile... really you just need to settle in for a long slug even with the right weapons.

Isn't shocking grasp a Force spell...I have a Wand of Shocking Grasp, maybe that would work too.

Confirmation that they are constructs - just finished it earlier today on a lowbie. It is painfully long bashing even with a TWF with damage boost every chance you get. Just pound away and kill the metal dogs when they come out.

No...it's SHOCKING Grasp and is electrically based damage.

Your best bet is just to wail away on the crystals with a weapon and save the magic for taking out the hounds.

I believe sonic damage does purple damage numbers to them. I think I used Sound Burst recently and saw that. Haven't had a weapon that would do sonic damage though.

I could be wrong, but I think the Nicked Greatsword that is End quest reward for Sharn does Sonic Damage.

Yeah I can confirm that the crystals are vuln to sonic. Had my bard spam sound burst on them, which was also stunning the dogs for an added bonus.
