    Default Computer Optimization

Disclaimer: Cannot upload dxdiag.txt because I am not on my desktop

I was wondering if there were some quick, cheap, easy ways to run DDO a bit faster on my computer.

Let's see what I can remember:
AMD Athlon 64 Processor, 2.4 Ghz
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 video card
    958 MB RAM
    Windows XP

Run Disk Defragmenter around once a month
Run Disk Cleanup about every two months
Hardly ever update drivers because I don't know how to update the drivers that need updated... or what drivers need updating...

    Would getting more RAM help?

If you can post the make & model of your motherboard, that would help provide critical info for people to have an idea of where you are at and what can be done in practical terms. My guess however is that you are probably best served by budgeting for a new system.

I looked up the specs of that system and from what I see, it is not wise to attempt to upgrade. The system is too old in my opinion. But on the positive AMD now has out Phenom 2 CPU's that are very competitive that you can base a system around.

Some helpful forums that people can give you feed back on for new system builds are:
