NFL advertisement?

Am i missing something here or is that an NFL ad that we never had before, have we ever had ad's in the forums...or did I just now notice.

Uhmm yeah...Turbine is definately going F2P I would say, might as well get ready to cancel ur subs, which is probably why we are getting free TP's now as VIP's, so when the subscription part of this game is cancelled it will be less of a blow to the vets. Attack speeds are being decreased because obviously one of thier big sellers is going to be an attack speed booster in the store.

VIPs are not being phased out. Attack speed issues are being looked at as well.

Also, while it's true that many pure F2P games feature website ads, not all do. Conversely, some very popular subscription titles such as WoW or the SOE games feature ads on their community sites.

I would think the best thing that F2P could do is bring in monthly paying subscribers...

It took me a while to understand what everyone was complaining about, cuz I don't see ads anyways... then I noticed the time "Advertisement" text up above... I love Firefox, and I love Adblock Plus even more!

As a Seahawk season ticket holder, I have no problems with NFL advertising . Actually anything that is not intrusive in the game that generates revenue for this game works for me. I'm hoping the FtP model is a financial success so far. Its hard to believe how many new people I see in the game now, many of them current or former WoW players. I even had to learn some WoW terms, like whisper, to be able to answer questions. Most the feedback I hear is that these new players love the game. Many are skilled players and catch on very quickly. In any case I hope a lot of additional money is flowing into the DDO coffers now.

I also didn't know what you guys were talking about until I disabled AdBlock to see.

All I can say is Turbine, thumbs down, WAY down. I am a PAYING subscriber. I do NOT want to see ANY adds, at all. As it is, I'm already somewhat insulted with the loading screen adds to use the store.

this seems to be the common denominator with all the explanations of new features were finding post mod 9 launch. at the pace were going now, in anouther year you should be able to rename ddo to wow.
