Wow..... just wow!. That's about the only way I can describe what I am thinking (without breaking CoC). After the recent update it really makes people wonder what the powers that be in Turbines decision making matrix are really thinking.
I've been a continuous player for well over 3 years now, Have 2 paid accounts, and have been reasonably happy over the years when some people were complaining the hardest. I normally just take things in stride with game 'adjustments' as they have hit the servers, and while some were good and others bad, they didn't impact the overall enjoyment and feel that made this game what it.....it...... I was going to say "is" but that's not accurate anymore.
The combat system in this game has always been the drawing force for a large number of the DDO faithful that carried this game on their backs during the last 2 years. There is nothing on the market that can realistically hold a candle to the combat that we've come to love and embrace. (The eye candy and all that is good too, don't get me wrong)
Ironically, with the business model now changed to a free to play, all those in the past that have threatened to cancel their account, or those in the future that plan to do the same, might as well pee directly into a strong wind, because that's about as much effect it will have.
I sincerely hope that the general outcry over this change to one of the games strongest foundation pieces is re-adjusted to something that is a better compromise that will acheive what developers are trying to acoomplish and keep the general population from feeling like they've been wronged.
Players should enjoy the game for slaying monsters in the quests, not feeling like they need to beat the monsters in the boardroom.
