    Default Attack bonus WAI?

I read the release notes and maybe I missed something.

This first came up tonight when a friend was telling me something wasnt right when his unbuffed attack bonus was much higher than it should be. He thought maybe a new piece of loot was bugged and giving him a bonus it shouldnt have.

Upon further inspection on my lowbie it seems the attack bonus, which increases with your attack chain, gets stuck on which ever part of the chain you are on. So I smack a mob a few times and as I progress my attack bonus goes up. Then that mob dies halfway through the chain. I run along for a little bit, start smacking a new mob, and my first swings attack bonus is through the roof. It also shows on the inventory details sheet like this. Is this correct? I thought the attack bonus should reset with your attack chain.

there's a visual bug in your inventory panel where the to-hit is incorrectly displayed under the circumstances you describe above, but hitting a mob and watching the dice roll I'm pretty sure it 'resets' back again and you are getting correct to-hit.

Can you try this again - or post a screenshot with a dice roll or combat log?

since mod9 release, your + to hit displayed in the inventory panel has used your incremental attack bonuses once you have attacked something (eg, it will show your +5 to hit swing if you've only taken that one at a mob, and once you have taken a +10 to hit attack, it will be +10 higher than normal for the rest of your login).
