    Default Dungeon scaling, again......

Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please,

put in an option to make the dungeon scale to a full party, clickable on the dungeon open page, next to the norm, hard, elite buttons, reguardless of how many people enter the dungeon. I solo'd Waterworks normal last night on my lvl 3 untwinked, 28 pt build cleric, and it felt like I was running my lvl 17 fighter through it. Took no damage from the traps, was almost never hit, the spiders being the exception, and even when I made a couple of serious mis-steps, and should have been turned into a smear on the floor, it took almost no healing to bring me back. I don't think I used a shrine once during the entire battle. To make it any easier, you'd need to have the kobold drop their weapons and throw themselves on my sword. It was sad, and not much fun.
I know that a more solo-able game would have and will help with a much larger and healthier player base, so I'm not asking for the scaling system to go away, just the option to opt-out.

Funny, I saw a post in guild chat just yesterday from a new person trying to solo ww on norm on their third level character, getting destroyed, (laughing about it) and going on to other things. Obviously, you can cruise through it becuase you are so familiar with the quest, not that the quest is so easy. They allow you to open it on hard to address exactlly what you want here. So, why are you doing it on normal? Don't waste any more time on scaling. If anything allow us to open on elite the first time.
    Almost nearly always: Ghallanda
Most likely: Heisenberg, Landau, Boltzmann, Sommerfeld, Rutherford, Bohr, Tezla, and Dirac.
But also: Vigner, Minkowski, Schrodinger, Fermi, Hartree, Sternn, Gerlach, and others.

I did WW Solo on norm yesterday on my new FvS.

    Level3

While it wasnt difficult to complete, I used about 40 Cure serious Potions, Was weidling +1 Elemental Weapons, and had intimate knowldge of EVERYTHING that was around the next corner.

a new player wont have any of that.

Drinking 40 pots isnt a big deal at all to someone who has been playing for years, for a new player, thats about 4,000 plat. My weapons, I spent about 30k Plat on on the AH without thinking.

After playign this game so long, I think some vets lose perspective on what it was like when they first started.

Foreknowlege you cant do anything about, but if ya wanna get a feeling of what the new players are seeing, avoid the temptation to Twink. Dont send that new lowbie a Muckbane and a few +1 Shock weapons. Dont send him Pots. and Dont send him Plat. Use what you find and sell everythign ya loot in order to buy that next item or Potion.

I bet you'll find the game much more difficult.

Sorry impaqt but it just seems like your build is not very solo friendly. 40 cure serious pots for ww normal!? I am playing a COMPLETELY untwinked character right now (no plat, items etc...). She's level 11, has not repeated any quest on the same difficulty (only s/n/h/e once), no loot runs etc. etc. and has yet to buy a single cure pot. All of this was before dungeon scaling was even added to the game.

Dungeon scaling makes things way too easy, it's just not fun anymore. A simple checkbox to opt out has no negative impact whatsoever on solo-ability, there's no reason not to implement it.

no, its not a good solo build. and if I was buildign a Solo character and was forced to not use resources, it would be different.

I'm not apposed to a checkbox. I adocated for one whenthe system was first intoduced.

I jsut dont see where the scaling is really making it too easy for folks that arent twinked to the max.

meh, so? i started with 2 lvls of monk and didnt had to buy pots
later in harbor i got my lvl3 and was able to replace those starter potions with the spell
yes, it made it abit easier, but still, 40 pots is just insane for someone knowing the game

So? He's not calling for the removal of scaling. He's asking for the option to disable it. We could easily have the best of both worlds, or we could have it where only one side is satisfied. Why not provide the option?

First I want to say, one of the points of this toon was to play "untwinked" so yes, this isn't completely true, but I don't count a Ring of Feathers or a Bottle of Air to be major twinkages. The one piece of twinked gear he has is the +1 khopesh of Lesser Reptilian bane.... Ok I know this is certainly twinked gear, but I simply couldn't let it pass when I saw it for 250 gold on the AH. as for the rest of his gear, it has been found or lucky pulls: plat, he has had to send plat away due to the limits on a F2P toon.

Yes knowledge of the game is a serious advantage, especially when soloing. knowing where the ambush spawn points are so you don't hit them until you are ready, can make all the difference in the world. However, at the same time, this same knowledge also tells me when I should have 0 chance of surviving. Take waterworks Pt3, the named ogre, The one that has smeared so many parties across the floor with 3 swings....(Vorag the Vengeful, I think, and you all have been there... don't lie... we know you have.....), very few Lvl 3's, even the best equipped and fully max twinked, should be able to go toe to toe with him when raged. Yet After he made a save vs command, raged and hit me 3 times, I still walked away with more than 50% of my health, and saying to myself this should not have happened.

if this was the only case of such a thing, I'd say I just had a lucky dice roll, but I've seen many cases where I just should not have survived, but not only saved, but then wiped the floor with the mobs after.

As for the point of the post, it has been asked for before, and I'm simply asking again, for a way to bring the scaling up to that of a full party for those who want more of a challenge. The scaling mechanics are in place, there is at some point where the system checks a variable to know how many are in the party, it shouldn't be that difficult to add a line that says when this button is checked, said variable=6. however having done coding, I know it is likely not that easy.
