    Default 28/34 Point builds... what's the difference/unlocking?

Sorry, I'm a fairly new player and keep seeing stuff about 28 and 34 point builds, but afaik I can only make 28 point characters... how do you go about unlocking or obtaining a 34 point build? Or is 34 points simply referring to the stat point increases every so many levels?

Care to elaborate? Fairly new player + unclear conditions = newly confused player.

Once you amass 1750 favor, you unlock 32 point builds.

    Main: 18 Artificer, Thelanis

When you reach 1750 total favor with one character on a given server, the subsequent characters can be created with a 32 point build instead of 28.

    What does this mean?

It means you can make your powerful stats "odd" then use a +1 tome to achieve another even gain earlier than it naturally would be. This means your characters are "better."

For example, my halfling monk, 28 points, started out as follows.

    12,16,14,8,16,8

If I had a 32 point build, it would have been as follows (most likely)

12/17/15/8/16/8 ... Im fairly certain wisdom costs 3 points to raise a 7th time, or I'd have put it there...You could go 13 strength instead, but I like a higher concentration and overall hit point value...really to each his own..

Now...hit level 4 with initial enhancements and a +1 tome of supreme ability and your levelup added into wisdom, that makes the stats look like this:

13(+1)/19(+2)/16(+1)/9(+1)/19(+3)/9(+1) Now add in level 5 required +3 items (or 3 required racials) to your main stats...

16(+4)/22(+5)/19(+4)/9(+1)/22(+6)/9 As a monk at level 5 this means, just from stats, Handwrap attack: 1d8+3 per swing, +5 to hit (finesse!), +6 ac from dex, +4 to concentration and +20 hit points, +6 to AC from wisdom...

So you're attacking unarmed at level 5 with a base +10 to hit (just bab with fob and finesse stat) with 22 base AC just from your base stats....

32 point builds can be a little more powerful, but they aren't entirely game breaking. It's a good reward, but I wish I could have bought with turbine points instead.

Thank you very, very much for the in depth explaination, I do appreciate it!
