    Default Game Error: Connection Failed.

    When I logged in after the patch, my computer dutifully downloaded all the updates, and installed them. Now, however, when I try to actually play the game, things go fine up to the nice loading screen with the female wizard, then it shuts down and I get a little box that says 'Game Error' on the top, and inside the box it says Connection Failed.

    I have all the updates. I have the new patch that came out today. I have two accounts, and the same thing happens to both of them. I was playing happily last night, with nary a twinge of trouble.

    I know that people are playing today, they are all over the forums complaining about the patch.

    If only I could get INTO the freaking game so I could see for myself.

    Can someone for Turbine please reply to this as soon as humanly possible? I kind of wanted to play tonight. If I need to reinstall the game, I need to know that right away as it takes a while. If I need to change some settings, then I would like to know that as well. And if I need to find something else to spend my time and money on, then I need to know that quickly too.

    A ticket has been filled out, and now I am going to wait for three to five freaking days for a freaking answer. Unbelievable.

    And I'm getting a black screen after logging and the log reads:

    000000000.000: Invalid Command-line "dclient.exe" : You must specify an account name

    I'm getting this same error. It's getting pretty frustrating, trying to log in. I get to the screen with the wizard and then it drops. Then I get a Windows message saying:

    Connection Failed. There is an error with this connection.

    I've tried logging into a couple of different servers, and I get the same thing. I don't know why it's happening. I was online and playing fine last night.

    Yes it's the same with me, I never even got to play the game, I just now downloaded last night and I really was hoping to play because it's freaking Dungeons and Dragons and I always wanted to play a game, or the real thing, that was Dungeon and Dragons...but now it seems I wont be able to get the chance anytime soon. I hope somebody replies to this because this is just not cool..

    Finally got it resolved.

    I got an email from the tech support people asking for more information. I ignored it, as it was totally useless and I was in absolutely no way interested in carrying on an email conversation with them with a three to five day lag between thier responses. I was completely prepared to stop playing this game, as much as I love it, because although it is a great game I would rather find something else to do with my time than be treated like ****.

    I deleted the game from my computer. I then deleted my firewall. I then reinstalled my game from my old disks from 2007 (which is how long I have been paying for my first account, which is why the three to five day lag in tech support responses is so aggravating). I then waited for five hours for the updates to come through.

    At that point in time, I started getting a DIFFERENT ERROR, related to my graphics. So I deleted my ATI Catalyst program, and reinstalled that.

    At that point in time, I got a DIFFERENT ERROR. So I rebooted my computer.

    Then I finally managed to log on.

    However, by that point in time I was pretty angry and then shut it down and watched football.

    On the off chance that any devs read this, you should know the following.

    I have two accounts. One active since 2007, one for a few months. Both are VIP. I am not free to play, I send you money every month, twice a month in fact as I have two accounts. A three to five day lag in tech support is unacceptable. Buggering up my game with your 'fixes' is unacceptable.

    I am still here, and still playing, and still paying. For now. But be warned, my patience is wearing thin, and quickly.

    Well if Im reading this right? We have to re-download DDO, and I dont have a CD I downloaded it off the computer...

    reinstalling worked for me.. I download the downloader again and hit the repair button.

    yeah i've had the same issue for a couple of days now, since the last patch, i've been trying to uninstall the tdm, but i get this error message whenever i try.

    uninstall key name missing

    which is ridiculous sounding to me.. any ideas?...

    Ya had this same problem.

    Just click on the repair button and it will download what the launcher did not. You'll notice this at the end when it shows you downloading the patch files that never made it to your main directory.

    Some say its downloading the files but placing them somewhere else.

    Anyway its how I fixed my log on problem, I too crashed right after the goddess at the log on screen.

    repair as in validate and repair in the download manager? because whenever i do that it does nothing at all..

    The option for me just engaged on auto pilot. I just sat back and waited. Took same time as before as if reloading the game and then the patch files. The tab was just above the "play" button on the launcher. Then I clicked on the "repair" option.

    No validating involved. I don't know what to do about repairing the launcher, and your right the need for a key to remove a file or files is nuts.

    Default Game error box: Connection failed

    I get to the load screen with the female sorcerer and then it crashes and I get a Game error; Connection failed, couldn't initialize crypto API. I tried repairing and validating and still get the same error. ANy info on how to fix this would be greatly appreaciated.
