Default Add a way to identify Free/Premium/VIP Players

Please add a visual in-game way to identify a players account type via their text name.

    Such as:

*Using normal text for Free Players, Italics for Premium, Bold for VIP's.

    or

*Using different coloured text. Free = normal, Premium = Blue, VIP = Red

    or

*Adding a different icon infront of names.

While premium isn't important, it would be nice to atleast be able to identify the people who are VIP, for the purpose of knowing they have access to all content and thus willing to party up and do the paid-content quests/missions. Rather than wandering around for hours, asking every player in sight if they have access to a certain dungeon or whether they are VIP.

Because it would lead to griefing and discrimination.

And a tip, don't wander around asking everyone to group with you. Blind tells/invites are extremely annoying. Put up a LFM and if they want/can run the quest in your LFM they will join you.
A friend will bail you out of jail.
A mate will be sitting in there beside you saying "**** that was awsome!!!"

really not sure why this would be needed. The grouping window allwos to excluded groups where lack of access to content is an issue.

Yuck.... as a Premium player who's actually bought most of the adventure packs already, I'd hate to be singled out and asked all the time if I own XYZ access (or worse yet, automatically assumed not to have it) just because I'm marked F2P.

I'm happy enough with people self-selecting which groups they can join.

I have to say that I just can't / won't support this it in any way. Even before we went F2P I would see LFM's and request to join a group with my bard only to be told "you're not a warchanter, sorry that's what we want" or with my fighter "what's your intimidate? *15* that's not high enough we need one higher" and then the next thing i see is XXXXX has declined your request to join his group. so can you image what the F2P people would be put through? It would make finding groups for some way to hard, not to mention the loss of good players as a result. If it's not broke don't fix it!

This is a bad idea which can only lead to griefing and discrimination. But even if they did offer a way to distinguish between the free and paid subscribers how would that help the situation you describe? You want a way to know if a given player has access to a quest but just because a player is a F2P player doesn't mean he doesn't have access. Heck in theory a free player could have shelled out the cash for enough points to buy every adventure pack and have the same access as a VIP.

Nope. Try to be accepting of your fellow new adventurers. They are the future of game survival.

Can we add a way to identify a*******?? That might be more helpful. I don't care if someone is F2P or VIP, if they're a d-bag... keep moving. I don't care how uber they think they are.

I'm tempted to leave this thread alone, due to the number of people pretty having said what I have to say, but since I saw the title and new I would disagree with the OP, I'll go ahead and add my voice.

    Emphatically /not signed.

    Twice.

Like DRM or most applications of Bayesian math, this simply wouldn't accomplish it's stated goal.

Further, and more importantly, it would have extremely negative side effects, as stated by others in this thread.

Just the existence of such a system would discourage many people from playing the game.

    Just, no.

Maybe we can start ending all segregation or any form of discrimination in-game by:

    Banning all "guild only" questing/raiding.

Banning all LFM's based off level.

Banning all LFM's based off class.

Banning any titles such as "Leader, Officer or Member" on characters.

Banning all guild tags on characters.

Open up all guilds for anyone wanting to join any guild, for any reason. At anytime desired by any player.

To keep anyone from being left out or seperated from any other player out there. Sound good?

Bah. You're being silly and I'm sure you know it.

Seriously though, while none of that sounds good, neither does adding unnecessary venues for elitism and discrimination.
The idea would add nothing beneficial to the game, but would add negative qualities to the game. It's a bad idea.

IT would be better to have a method for F2P to know if they have access to a quest/chain/area without joing a PUG and then having to leave because they cannot run with us.

Similar to the Korthos grayed out Party LFM to separate those who did and those who did not until they get to Stormreach.

Making a more public way to ID F2P and VIP would be terrible as I do not think it matters. It matters if they have acess or not.
