General chat on the Harbor and Korthos is nigh unbearable as it is, soon it will spread to other areas but theres way too many people spamming LFGs with caps-lock on chat these days.
Please implement a LFG channel to make some of this go away.

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!
Go for the eyes Boo!
Just point people to the social panel and tell them alot of groups up for what you are looking for. May take a while for it to sink in. Also can look at it as a positive if they dont use the social panel they will never join your group.
Pointing people to the social panel is an exercise in futility so far
people have been using advice and trade quite a bit and as soon as the new ppl notice that theres an easy way to post LFGs with a differnt color from general chat they'll flock to it like mammoths on lollipops
HELL NO!
DDO has the best system for grouping out there. Lets not dumb it down to the same as every other MMO.
I simply tell people, "You can type LFG for the next hour or two or go to the LFM and find a group right away, your choice."

I dont see whats so HARD about hitting O and looking at the available groups or posting a LFM, like stated above DDO has the #1 LFG/M system out there USE IT! I have been playing for over year and never used any type of chat to find members or a group to run with, aside from looking in the who and sending tells to specific classes im looking for. It just so happens we have a influx of people who will not read instructions, or take the time to find out how to do things on their own, they just go I cant do it, I dont know how, blah blah blah. I had to tell 20 people last night that 'No osgoods is not gone, its just moved.' Honestly people read the patch notes, Soon as people start reading and following simple instructions they will realize how easy it is to do almost anything in this game.
Noone would use it. Look at WoW for that - I mean they use trade channel for everything!
We have a LFG that works! We just gotta teach the new players to use it. Or, it will make it easier to sort out the chaff, if you want to look it at way.
+The Goddess of Tempest's Spine+Merc's Only, THELANIS: List is here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...94#post2798094 LEGIONNAIRE /Salute to Rameses, He has RETURNED!
I agree i guess.
The LFM always worked wonders for me and i also dont want to see it gone anymore than you do.
Maybe an LFG channel would make new people not want to use the lfm, and that would truly be a bad thing.
Another solution would be adding a Step-by-Step tutorial on how and why to use the LFM on korthos, maybe as a quest even, using hirelings in place of pcs and such.
(they could add in tips for the most faq answers too, a simple 1hour monitoring would show that most people have no idea about some very basic stuff, like dragonshards, and they are usually unwilling to look it up on the compendium and other places)

How about just integrating this into the existing tutorial? When you first talk to the female cleric (I'm horrible at remembering names), she says something along the lines of "We need to form up as a group before we enter the grotto." Then, she gives the new character step-by-step instruction for opening the social panel and creating a new group, including picking the quest, setting the level range, and posting. The three NPCs show up as wishing to join, she guides the character through accepting them into the party, and once everyone is in the group, the tutorial continues into the grotto as now. Just make it so that the posting created within the tutorial does not actually show up on the LFM panel everyone else is using.
The more I think about it, the more I like this idea.
Tip #71: '3d6' means three six-sided dice are being rolled. For example, when you see that a weapon does '2d4' damage, it means that two 4-sided dice are rolled for damage, for a damage range of 2-8. <--Too difficult to understand? Really?
As do I. Much better than adding a spam channel.

A better solution yes but it needs to come out fast, watched LFMs on cannith today and there wasnt a single one with appropriate level range selected...
