    Default Soloing?

I've played PnP D&D for a while now. I just found out they made this game free to play. I was wondering what classes are best for soloing if they've added more solo content. My friends used to play this and they were saying that most of the game was group based. I prefer solo play for the most part although I'm not opposed to grouping entirely. I was thinking monk even though I"d have to pay to get that class.

I have found my Favored Soul is great to solo.

    Battle Clerics work well also.

Quite a bit of the content can be soloed but you may need to be a level or 2 above the quest level to do so.

Pretty much the whole game is soloable now - just do quests at your level (or 1 level below you, since there is no XP penalty for that now).

There are a few quests that require more than one player in (for switches and levers) so you can bypass those (e.g. some necropolis quests, delera's tomb) but you can either avoid those or find a hireling to pull levers.

Also, end game raid content (and some of the quests leading up to these) are easier with a group.

I soloed my favored soul (melee dps and self-healing/buffing) to around level 13 or 14 before I started grouping.

I would recommend a class that can dish out some damage but also self heal. Examples would be WF wiz (arcane damage, but self-repair), or Paladin (melee damage, heal wands or mana at higher levels) or even battle cleric (same benefits as paladin). You might even consider multiclassing into rogue (synergy with warforged wizard) to disarm traps too.

If you don't have warforged unlocked, consider a dwarven battle cleric or human paladin? I'm sure others can give advice on those builds.
