Which driver would you guys recommend for a Radeon HD 4670 when playing DDO???

Ive tried several drivers but they all failed on me.

Also, would a complete redownload and/or reinstall of the game make any difference?

(*the game never gave me any problems with my broken Geforce8600 gts)

i seem to be having the same problem as i posted here

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=290138

im desperate i have no idea what to do about this.

its just like i simply dont own the game anymore. cant play it AT ALL.

just made my last try now, reduced the FPS to only 60

joined a TS group... i wasnt lagging or stuttering as much, so i actually wanted to give it a try..

went in the instance... stutter started to get worse but very bareable until I made past the lava part and entered the cave, in the first corner when the drow came... BOOM !! mega blaster stuttering, even noise stuttering (new this time) cant move cant do anything, mouse still moves ok, can alt tab out of the game ok, and then i just have to close it.

    HELP :/

I replaced my Sapphire HD3650 with an HIS HD4670 AGP card recently, after getting Sapphire's support to say it sounded like a hardware problem. BTW, I don't recommend Sapphire since you have to pay a third party to RMA an item for warranty support.

I installed the Catalyst 10.9 AGP Hotfix drivers on the new card. At the risk of jinxing it, the problem has not reoccurred since. *crosses fingers*

    Lightbulb I solved my problem

Had the same problems as everyone else, though it seems that solution for this thing is different for everyone.
    What I did-
    Removed every ATI related thing
    Reboot
Removed all .NET framework related thing
    Reboot
    Run Driver cleaner ( http://www.afterdawn.com/software/se...leaner_pro.cfm )
Then installed 9.7 CCC from link at the top of this page.
    Reboot
Installed both 1.1 framework and it's update pack. (again, using links found in this thread)
Let DDO launcher upgrade framework to 2.0
NOT letting windows do any additional updates to it, no matter how sad eyes it makes!!!!
So far runs smoothly... Normally as soon as I post this line on any forum, something is bound to set on fire for no apparent reason -.-

Ok, after one day so far runs smoothly still... still occasionally freezes (games sounds, voice chat is still on), but not often. It can be solved by Alt+Enter (go in and out of windowed mode). Good luck to you solving your issues there, I hope my post helped.

    Default This worked for me

I recently build a new system with a Radeon HD 6870 and a MSI motherboard that has built in Realtek HD audio.

I was having sound/animation stuttering when certain sound effects played. Sounds/animations would sometimes play 10-20 seconds after they should and the game would often freeze for 3-5 seconds when running around. The game was not playable.

I tried as many ideas from this thread as I could. I installed different drivers, disabled the ATI HD audio devices, adjusted sound settings, changed troubleshooting settings in DDO, but nothing that I tried made any difference.

I had absolutely no problems with any other games that I played. (StarCraft 2, Company of Heroes, Left 4 Dead 2)

These are the steps I took to narrow down the problem.

I disabled the motherboards on board sound and the game ran smoothly. After troubleshooting some more, I discovered that I could fix the stuttering by lowering the volume of the game sound effects and the music to 0. The UI sound and Voice chat did not cause any performance problems.

My problem was very specific to sound effects in DDO, so I decided to uninstall and re-download DDO. After I re-installed DDO, everything worked perfectly.

I am guessing that maybe a file was corrupted during the previous download/install.

I may not have been having the same issue as everyone here, but it may be helpful for someone else looking for options.

Thanks to everyone else who has posted potential solutions. This thread is very helpful.
