Red face Turbine will not accept monthly game card!

This is Regarding “[err: 30018] “

I purchased 3 copies of dungeon and dragons online, in order for me to get the one month subscription provided in each of the boxes.

I entered “*****-*****-*****-*****-*****”, were it says “activate product key”, one provided by one of the boxes, and I got the message:

“The following subscription(s) already have the features associated with the Product Key you are trying to activate:

    Subscription Nickname: **************
    Features Activated: Stormreach™ Standard"

When I go to “Game card”, and placed the same code, got an error:

“The Game Card you have entered is invalid. If you believe this is an error, please contact Turbine Customer Service by visiting support.turbine.com. [err: 30018]"

Question: It gives me the option to create new subscription on this account … does that meant I won’t be able to keep my characters on VIP? I want to keep my old characters in VIP!

Will my subscription be in a different realm, were another set off characters are created, separated?

Will the new subscription stop me from doing this and getting monthly 500 tbs on billing day?

Any help would help ... Except for just saying "bump" … that is a cheap way for raising your post number and you know it!

PS: sorry to sound like n00b! ... started the game only 28 days ago!

Product keys cannot be used as Game Cards. They are entirely different sets of keys.

Product keys cannot be used to just add time to a subscription. They can be used to upgrade an existing subscription, but cannot be used to add time if there is no upgrade involved.

I recommend contacting the Account Management department. They may be able to assist with this.

Thanks for your info, i understand what you saying.

However, i would like to know if i will stay as a VIP, if one of my account's subscriptions expire, and the other one has still 28 days. (that would be possible if i created a new subscription on my current account, thus always having at least 1 active subscription on my account, thus me being a VIP for over a month, thus getting my 500 turbine points ... then again plans don't work always as you want them to!)

My goal = To get the monthly 500 turbine points, offered by turbine to monthly VIP members, using my Product keys that offer me monthly subscription each.

PS: EB games shops in Australia still have the game in stock!

VIP access is specific to the individual subscription, as are characters. If the subscription on your account that has your characters expires, then you won't have VIP access with them. Since product keys cannot be used to add time to an individual subscription, only to upgrade or create new subscriptions, adding additional product keys will NOT continue VIP access for a previous existing subscription.

To help clarify my response, it may be helpful to explain the difference in the Turbine Account Management system between an account and a subscription.

An account has a single username, which is used for Account Management and game login. It can have multiple subscriptions on it, for multiple Turbine games. For example, you can have one AC, two DDO and one LOTRO subscription on a single Turbine account, with a single username.

A subscription is a specific game login for a specific game. Characters are specific to an individual subscription, as is the billing plan for that subscription. Subscriptions are identified by the Subscription nickname, which can be changed at any time on the Account Management page. You can have more than one DDO subscription on a single account, and they can be at different levels of access. Changes made to a single subscription will generally have no effect on any other subscription on the account.
