    Default Unable to play

    When I log into the game my characters are unable to move and the game loses connection shortly thereafter. Originally this was only happening when creating a new character but now it is occurring with my existing character.

    I noticed when I login lately, I can't move for a good 20 seconds or so. All of the toolbars are moved around as well... but after 20 seconds everything finished loading apparently and it all goes back to normal.

    I have the same issue. Tech support said it's fire walls. It's definately the ports causing the issue.

    I am going to try what they said. Ill post my results tonight, or PM you as soon as I test it. Hopefully I can use what they told me to help you as well.

    Cheers

    Psssshhht

    Nope. I dunno what I was thinking. Im not techy. I dont get any of this. Tried and wanted to help you though

    The following ports need to be opened out-bound:

    •Port 80 - TCP
    •Ports 9000-9010UDP - Server Port
    •Ports 2900-2910UDP - Server Port
    When configuring port forwarding explicitly, you need to specify the CLIENT's port. By default, the client lets the operating system choose its port.

    If you edit your UserPreferences.ini:

    DDO (My Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\UserPreferences.ini)

    you'll see a section titled [Net].

    There's an entry there for UserSpecifiedPort, which defaults to 0. Set that value to something else (like 9000), and then forward that port to your computer (either by port forwarding or by a trigger)

    ~~~~~~~~~
    I set the ini to 9000
    Then went to control pannel
    Firewall
    Make Exceptions
    Then I added all of the things from the knowlege base
    Then I went to the add ports button.
    So. then a screen comes up which looks like it wants a name for the port (Dunno if I have to name it something)
    I assume then in the lower box you put whatever number you changed your user preferences too
    After that. I have not a clue.
    Sorry
