You may not think much of what turbine has done, and that your choice. No one is saying you cannot have this listing and be on it. Others find it wrong and offensive, who do not want to be on it. They should have the option to not be on it.

Other say what is the big deal if someone else knows your character or what they have: If I wanted others to know what I have for items or even stats I would post it in my bio that what is is there for.

I do think it is sad when turbine who seemed to bend over backward for the players when they find other issues like loading screens, offensive names, and offensive players and act quickly to fix the issues [even though the game is made rated for teens], are now saying we have it in LOTR so it is staying.

this issue is really a belief issue, and what has been done Offends my beleifs of what I think of privacy and rigth from wrong.

* I have been a loyal player of DDO since march 2006: I never left [cancled my accounts] and came back because the content took to long to get here. I played through the terrible lag issues that Turbine had with ddo in the past. I even stayed when you could not get a full group before the server merge.

It is a sad day when I have to really think of leaving the game over what Turbine is doing in the forums and not what in the game. I have an option to join the forums or not. If I do join I have the option whether or not to leave any information. Except when it comes to this issue the only choice is delete all toons and leave the game. Having to delete the toons to get the informatin off the page and doing that would mean not coming back at all.


Well after much thought I have decided on what I am going to do about this issue.


I see no reason there is not an option out option since everything else in the forums is optional: I do not have to read them, log into them or even comment on them, to play the ddo game. So I can Option out of everything in the forum except myddo.com when it comes to my characters.

If turbine was going to do anything they would have already, so the only actions that I see for myself are
1 play the game as usual
2 leave the game.

Dude, who really cares who sees what gear your guys last logged out wearing - mine is usually all my haggle gear...

To be honest, I look at character pages for players I group with often, and my first question is 'How do they play so well, there's nothing special in their stats or gear?'

The answer is simple - ignore the class icon, the flashy weapons etc and know that the player is the mastermind here

Don't quit in a froth because someone could possibly give you a ribbing about what they see on my.ddo.. these players are prolly a little jealous of what they found (or didn't find)

Wow nice to see some people have the principles to cut off their nose to spite their face. If you enjoy the game and are having fun why would you quit because people can see you character stats and equipment? I'm amazed that some one would take a "principled" stand over something, that is IMHO so silly. To each his own, but to quit something you find fun over ...I don't even know how to categorize this. Good luck in what ever you do and I hope you maintain such a principled stand on issues that actually mean something.
