    Default Eladrin; Why, why add caster sets inferior to and nonstacking with basic lore items??

    I am baffled by this, baffled, and hopefully there will be some insight here: I understand that class-specific bonuses are not present on any of this equipment, but they are wholly worthless as sets right now: the belts have terrible modifiers as it is in general, and their set bonuses are nonstacking: why use a two item set to achieve less benefit than the basic lore item you will wear anyway? It doesn't make any sense.

    Is this an oversight? A mistake? Is the prc related bonus when the savants/archmagi/etc are added going to be so awesome as to make this utterly craptacular belts useful?

    It was disappointing enough that not one single one of all these rings was cha 6 / cha +1 like wizards get with archmagi, that they had worthless wizardry 6 on them so they had no useful effect whatsoever, but not even achieving the set bonus will make it worthwhile? I used a charisma ring before, so I'll use my set ring (probably earth, since its a nice +1 constitution), but its incredibly disappointing that casters get completely worthless sets, and that the sorceror ones are so unbelievably poor.

    Please tell me this is an issue and that the set bonuses are intended to stack.

    They don't stack with any kind of lore item (they would supercede greater arcane lore on multiplier, though, as they have the multiplier effect of a superior lore item, .5 instead of .25 .. so the archmage set would in theory give you a .25 multiplier increase on the few spells that require arcane lore to crit (blade barrier, disintegrate).

    The sorceror sets are wholly worthless, down the line, as every single one is inferior by 4% to a basic major lore item, and equal in crit multiplier.

    generally caster/cleric gear is pretty dismal in terms of acquiring anything that would really actually *help* a toon.


    improved turning? **** that doesn't improve on things we've had since mod4 or 5?


    I mean, the jump clickie is **** nice for clerics, but other than that ...


    Oh, I'm really just hoping someone tells me I'm dead wrong so I actually have something to strive for.

    I am not sure if they are, but these should stack with all items and enhancements. If these are indeed not sorking then we have an issue. My question would be more do all of these % chances all total a larger effect or do each % work individual of each other. I see varying degrees of damage off of a spell which could be due to die roll for damage or another % change also took effect and did the additional .50 damage. I am still not sure if all increase a single change for the additonal crit damage but sometimes the numbers just seem odd.

    And yes, I do realize that there are resistance variables to work with but I am talking the great varying of numbers. For instance, my otilukes has been hitting for 350ish and critting for 750+. But, then occasioanlly I see damage for 1100+ but far less than the other two. Seems like another modifier worked in addition to my normal items/effects. If this is the case then the chance of hitting true max damage is so infrequent due to the number of numbers that must all fall into place on their own individual % chances. The enhancement, lore item, set bonus, cap bonus and any others i cannot think of would all have to prot to get the greater effect.

    Maybe someone could confirm this one way or another. The idea is interesting at best. I would rather eveyrthing stack for a total if I had the choice of the two. This would certainly be more output of damage this way of the two.

    Ottilukes is a bad spell to test with becuase it has a save for half.


    Spells have a damage range, you need tobe very familiar with what your spell normally does to tell if something enhanced it.


    And no, thats not how critical chance and multiplier work, they are additive and its very easy to test with lore items and enhacnement respecs if you want to do so; use polar ray to test it, as it has no save, and you cant be mislead by mobs rolling well.

    oh I do realize the poorness of this example. Just first recent one for the numbers. Better would be polar ray and I do remember seeing 3 "tiers" of numbers but this was even before I got the water set. Sadly, I haven't been able to log in consistently enough to test anything.

    and what do sorcs want with wiz 6 on highest raid set when items have been out for a long time with archmagi?

    For those set bonus fans playing at home, Warchanter set also doesn't stack with the Gloves of the Glacier Efficient Metamagics.

    What I cant figure out is why they even Made any of the other belts when Rhakirs Sash does everything the other belts do and isn't limited to 1 damage type.

    Out of all the "Energy" +5% Crit Chance +0.50 Crit multiplier items.. why would you use anything other then Rhakirs?

    Then you look at the rings and the Rrakirs gives +6 INT which is completely useless to a Sorcerer and then you see all the rings that go with the "inferior" belts give +6 CHA.. So sorcs will need 1 of each belt and constantly have to swap belts around to cast spells of different energy types..

    Thats just BS IMO

    Make a SINGLE ie ONE Sorc belt/ring set that is the equal to the Wizard belt/ring set and do away with this nonsense.

    In theory they're just placeholders until we know what the various set bonuses will be, and even the PrE's that they're based on...but yeah, that's ****...

    Was wondering the same thing after I got my water savant set. On top of that I'm pretty sure the crit portion of the sorcerer capstone isn't working properly either, but I've been too lazy to respec my enhancements to truly be able to test it.

    Maybe that's the devs way of balancing sorc and wiz, to give sorcis all the useless crapola sets while wiz is kinda good as is ... since so many seem to believe wizards are that far behind their zoober sorcerers.
