Default Log in error..can't log in(datacenter). Am I screwed?

I keep getting this error after downloading the game..

I put in my user and password, and it tries 5 times..then I see this..

    "Log in error"

"Web error while accessing the datacenter":

    https//gls-auth.ddo.com/GLS.AuthServer/Service.asmx

    Any ideas?

    I'm in the same boat.

Just decided to come back after a while, downloaded the new client and i can't login due to the same error your getitng.
I've tried everything i can find to fix it to no avail.

Tried getting help from the tech team but they're just telling me to try everything I've already tried.

Kinda sucks cause i was looking forward to playing again.

One thing that might solve it:

Check the connection settings on your Internet Explorer (I don't care if you use firefox, check the IE settings). For most people, the correct setting is "Automatically Detect Settings".

DDO uses your IE settings (not your default browser settings). One way these can get messed up is updating to IE8.

This solves data center issues about 60% of the time.

    Problem solved.

The problem was caused by the main security certificate not being trusted.

Easy fix though, after trying everything the tech guys said to do (which was also everything i could find on the web related to DDO about it) to no avail.

All you have to do is go to start > run > certmgr.msc > and look for the certificate named "UTN-USERFirst-Hardware", export it to your desktop, name it whatever, DELETE it from the certificate manager.

Then go back to the certificate manager, right click on the "Trusted Root Certificate Authorities" on the left side, "All tasks" > Import > Next > Select the certificate you just saved to your desktop, Next > Check the "Place all certificates in the following store", click browse > select "Trusted Root Certificate Authorities", OK, Next > Finish.

    Problem solvered.

This was done on vista 64 ultimate btw. Should be the same on other windows versions i think.

    Hope this helps.

Requesting sticky or to be put in the troubleshooting connections help.

I have it as well actually for the last 1/2 hour I am unable to connect with datacenters. I'm hoping it has something to do with the new server going in today as I was able to login and play fine just last night
