Listen little mrs house wife ***** without a clue I dont come the forums for service, the forums never help with customer service, ever. They are an outlet to vent frustration as well as an outlet to give praise to Turbine. And I ******* resent the beaten with a hammer comment, when on your little chaperoning of teenage girls outtings have you seen someone beaten into submission with a ******* hammer? I have seen firsthand what happens to a human when they have been beaten into submission with a hammer. It happened to friend of mine who ****ed off a gangmember. He was beaten and every joint on his body was smashed with an 8 pound slege hammer. When we removed the blood soaked carpet there were dents in the plywood underneath a half inch deep. He is looking forward to 2years of rehab, the permanet loss of use in most of his right arm functions because of talking up the wrong girl at a party. So ******* and your analogy. I know how customer service works, I deal with clients, and property managers on a daily basis and treat individuals how I would like to be treated.
I had already submitted a bug report, the GM said sorry nothing they could fix, submitt a report to customer service. The customer service page says we will get back to you in 2-5 business days. What most people here who can only read caps lock then get offended as if they are turbine themselves or it was addressed to them personally is that I already spent money and time unlocking drow. On the premium service page it says you get all the personal bank space and favor of the character being transfered. You cant log in and talk to Nyx, because it says would you like to buy the drow race. After I paid the 9$ I could talk to Nyx but then it was too late. As to grinding out drow favor yet again, if wanted to grind some more I would go free to play, I am a VIP for that very reason, I am not really into the lowby grind. Its not like I want the $ back for the TP I was forced to buy, I just dont want to pay for them to use on a character I already spent 25$ on moving who should be unlocked already. As to getting my guildies to grind lowby favor.. lmao yeah right there are too many that need boots of anchoring to waste the time grinding useless lowby favor for even an hour.I dont expect them to use their leisure time grinding drow favor.
So you see no oversight with allowing a player to transfer a toon to another server without at least giving a warning that the character might not be able to be played.
Turbine has always allowed character transfers to be used for unlocking drow and 32 pt builds in the past, at the bare minimum they should inform players of this policy change before taking 25 dollars for a useless character transfer.
Err ... any self-respecting programmer, would at least put a check in place and throw a warning. A good programmer would've made sure that character not only transfers 32-point builds, but also has every favor unlocked. And the the smart programmer would've just listened to management and do strictly what he or she's asked. I think Turbine is full of smart programmers.
Godspeed.
exactly.
this is what it says on the transfer faq web page
What is a Character Transfer?
A Character Transfer is when Turbine moves or relocates a character from one world to another. For example, if your character currently resides on Argonnessenand you would like to play with your friends on Khyber, we would perform a Character Transfer from Argonnessen to Khyber.
What should I expect from the Character Transfer Process?
The Character Transfer process WILL transfer your character with all of their experience, items, and quest progression intact. Your friends list, guild list / association, ignore list, auction house, and in-game mail WILL NOT be transferred.
How much is a World Character Transfer?
A DDO World Character Transfer is 24.95 USD.
Do I need to be logged into the game to get transferred to the new server?
No. You do not need to be logged into the game to get transferred to the new server. Please feel free to play any character on your account while you wait for any transfers to be completed. However, we do recommend that you avoid playing the character to be transferred as much as possible while waiting for the transfer, as the character to be transferred must be offline in order to be transferred. You will receive an email from Turbine Customer Service once the server transfer is complete.
What about Favor. Will my character's Favor be transferred over to the new server?
Yes. All of the character's Favor will be transferred over to the new server.
I don't know, who is responsible for such oversight? Should Turbine check to make sure you meet all pre-reqs, or should they assume you know what you're doing and go along with it? Honestly, I'm not sure. It probably would have been nice for Turbine to say "You know you can't log in to this guy until you unlock Drow some other way first, right?"
At this point they should probably offer to return that character to it's original server, if the player wants. Otherwise the player can leave it there and will have to unlock Drow before he can play it.
It's not a change. It's working how it has always worked. To unlock Drow you need to have a character that has more than 400 Favor go talk to the Drow representative. This isn't following that process.Turbine has always allowed character transfers to be used for unlocking drow and 32 pt builds in the past, at the bare minimum they should inform players of this policy change before taking 25 dollars for a useless character transfer.
DUH... However, this issue is addressed in that post because it is affected by the change in the game.
Actually it is because before character transfers, you had to unlock Drow and 32-pt builds on each individual server if you chose to play on multiple servers. That never changed. You still have to do that.

Thanks for bringing this up. This is not the intended behavior of the character transfer system, and customer service should be able to resolve this issue for you as long as you've filed a ticket. Sorry for the inconvenience.
