    Default ten thousand stars enhancement

I had a spare point last night so I grabbed 10k stars for fun and profit.

turns out, it was neither fun nor profitable.

what does this thing do? other than consume and not generate any ki, there was no descernable effect at all. as I stood in tier 4 wind stance my throwing was unchanged.

and yeah, I know, thrown weapons are dumb -- no need to point that out in this thread. let's just assume I have some valid use for them...

its purpose is to burn an enhancement point which could better be used... absolutely anywhere.

It is so laughably useless that the only people who would use it are folks like yourself, who think it sounds like a fun idea but have never actually witnessed it. Now that you have, feel free to head back to the trainer and redo your enhancements to get rid of it.

    Sucks...=(

It's an obvious place to implement a Manyshot type ability...maybe when they redo Monks...

Are you referring to the "15 stars a minute" enhancement?

hm. well this is about what I expected. maybe if I put it on the stone of change I can.... sigh.

many shot would work. actually increasing speed would also work. hm, really doing anything would make me happier.

... back to the trainer for enhancement reset #235203

mod 9 has been great for monks.... maybe a little something more to slip in eh?

    Thumbs down

    Except for rings,
I see no enhancement on monks.
Monks still remain the same as before. Monks' problems still exsit.
Weighted do not apply dc to stunning fist and stunnning blow.
    No transmuting handwraps.
Buff finish moves duration do not scaled by monk level.
Use viod attack in the attack queue you only get one attack roll.
Use stunning fist in the attack queue you only get one attack roll.
    Bugs are still exist.

    SUCKS.

I'm sure they'll get this all fixed soon. It's only been a year.

actually they fixed a bunch of stuff. weighted does work now (and in wind stance, boy does it work!), weakening works, ghost touch works, transmuting is in the pipeline and a handful of others I can't think of off the top of my head.

not to say there isn't a wealth of things that could be improved upon... they did get some help this mod.

We were told last week that weighted (for +DC to stunning fist) does *not* work. Can you please verify this?
The % chance per hit to stun has always worked, AFAIK. It's the +DC to stunning fist that we really want fixed.

But yes, transmuting handwraps (aka "metalline"), as well as force, force burst, holy burst, pure good, and so on are slated for update #1 as per Eladrins comment in another thread recently.

    I missed that. link?

I have never seen weighted work on handwraps in any capacity (though I've never carried more than a random 1% with the 'I heard from someone it doesn't work' mentality that plagues this class). as far as proof it's working I can only offer anicdotal 'seem to work more' evidence.

    not exactly science.

The ten thousand stars works, but I don't think it stacks with wind stance. If you turn on another stance and hit it, you'll notice the increase in speed, which is comparable to having wind stance on. It would probably show up more pronounced on a lower level monk.

Make this enhancement like manyshot. I see no reason to not do so. I don't think we are going to see a proliferation of throwing monks because of it.

My true question is why can we not dual wield throwing weapons?

I could throw a knife with both hands, granted IRL I'd not hit the broadside of anything, but I could still do it.

There is absolutely no reason you can't double chuck shurikens.

Yeah, even if it were better I would spend that ap on ANYTHING else.

I mean how often are you throwing a 1d2 shuriken around?

To hit levers, that's about it for me.

I don't even bother throwing it at the crystals in shroud part 3 anymore. I'm usually the first one there, but I barely have one crystal nicked before the sorc or ranger comes along to blow them all up.

stars are a joke unless its a vorpal shuriken of precise shot...... then maybe under certain conditions is it useful.

had the enhancement and specced it out after a week ........ gave it a fair shot.

some would argue that it happened at the creation of the universe and we're just now noticing it as each predetermined event unfolds before us. others would close their eyes and imagine a dog arguing with a sprinkler. and yet others would simply close their eyes and think of nothing at all. what is the sound of one hand clapping? it's exactly like me asking for something not to happen that is entirely certain to happen.

    the zen of foruming.
