Default How many hirelings at once?

Is there a limit on how many hirelings can be used by one person in a quest?

Is there a limit on how long a hireling will be in your inventory before you use it?

How many quests can you do with the same hireling? DO you need to get a new one every quest?

    Thanks!

One if you buy with DDO money. only summoned inside entrances.

Five if you buy from the store. summoned whenever/wherever you like in an instance.

Once bought they stay with you forever until you first use them then a 60 minute clock starts.

after 60 minutes you cannot use it again.

You can use it as many times during the 60 minutes as you want (although there is a 300 second counter between uses.)

Barbarians by nature are mindless fools at times.
Arcanes are part-time archers at times.
Fighters are not quite as mindless as barbs but not quite as mad.
Clerics are pet healers as you'd expect.

i love them. they are like children and grow on you.

From the regular vendors in the city - yes. With those Hirelings, the limit is one per-person in the quest. And, they count as filling a party-slot, so if you have five players in your quest, only one person could summon a hireling.

The Hirelings from the DDOStore, aka: Gold Label Hirelings, have no such individual limits. If you are soloing and can afford them - you could fill the party with five hirelings, if you so desired.

I think the contract stays good until you use it, no limit there.

Hirelings are one-shots when it comes to quests. You'd need to summon a new one, since they leave the group when the quest is done.

Regular hirelings are one per person. Gold Seal hirelings (bought from the DDO store with points instead of from hireling vendors for ingame cash) can be up to 5 per person. Hirelings can only be used in quests that allow a maximum of 6 players (no raids), and take up a party slot (so normal hirelings there can be a maximum of 3 of - 3 player characters, each with one hireling, for a total of 6 party members)

I believe the contract stays in your inventory indefinitely till the first time you summon it, at which point a timer starts (one hour? not sure how long the timer is).

You can resummon the hireling for new quests until the timer runs out, at which time it will stay with you until you enter a public area, then vanish (will need to buy a new contract to get it back).

[note- the reason different people are giving different answers is because they keep changing the way hirelings work. My answers above were accurate as of about a week ago ]
