    Default Windows XP: Login problem

I cannot login under Windows XP: I'm getting the following error: "Underlining SSL/TLS connection was closed", and details contains the .NET error text: "Cannot establish secure connection between client and server because they are using different algorithms". What's the problem?

Do you have any kind of VPN (Virtual Private Networking) setup on your system? They sometimes can cause issues with the games secure connections, I believe it's usually because they use a different encryption and set the system to use their encryption.

I had the same error, but on Windows Vista. I found a solution that gets me past it, and it appears they may hold valid for XP as well:

    # Open the Control Panel.
    # Select Administrative Tools and then Local Security Policy.
    # Navigate to Local Policies and Security Options.
    # Double click System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing.
    # Disable the setting, and then click Apply.
