Default Game start up: Visual Basic problem message

When I start up DDO I get a msg from windows that says something to the effect - a program you are running is not compatible with certain elements of visual basic. Im not sure what the exact wording is because it is just a pop-up bubble off the windows toolbar. I have had this problem with one other game, LOTR. Both use turbine... dont know if that's anything, but seemed like it could be.

I chose not to use DX10 setting options with both games. Both games start to shows graphical errors ( I think they are called glyphs) during the character creation process then crash to blue screen after a little. If anyone has any ideas or information please help me out.Im including DXdiag info below.
