This character is already in the world

I was logging in on my character this afternoon and after clicking Enter my computer locked up with nothing in the load progress bar. I re-booted and tried to log on but now I keep getting "this character is already in the world" error. I waited to see if it would just log me out after some time, but now it's been 10 hours and still teh same message.

I have the exact same problem. Did you ever find a solution to this? Does anyone have a solution to this? If my character is already in the world you'ld think it would time out and log out. It won't let me delete the character either. Presumably because I'm "already in the world". LOL, what a glitchy game. I haven't seen so many bugs since Arachnophobia.

I don't want my character (and I'm sure the others don't want their characters) to be gone just because of some glitch.

Isn't there some timeout thing that will automatically log you out?
My character has been stuck like this for several hours now...

Exactly the same problem. I guess I'll have to make another character while anticipating exactly the same problem occuring to him. Then both character slots will be taken up by characters which cannot be played or deleted. Glad it's free to play!

Just wanted to report that my character is now accessible. I used my other character to log in and open a ticket (harrassment), claiming that the problem character was harrassing me by refusing to leave the world. I explained in the ticket text that I realized that it was a technical problem and not harrassment, but hoped that a DM could boot him. I never heard anything from a DM, but the problem was gone inside of an hour. Of course, it could be a fantastic coincedence, but I felt I should report back all the same.

problem solved for me also. Was abled to log in with the stuck character after like 14 hours
(could have worked earlier but had no access to a computer for 7 hrs).

I`ve been trying to log on (last 24 HRS) and got the same message. " This character is already in this world"
Of course I logged in with my other chr and hit HELP and of course I got no response !!!

I've been having the same issue with no help from turbine. I've been trying to login for over 24 hours.

I even put in a ticket through another character and still no help.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Happened to my arti last night, went to bed and after a good nights sleep it was fixed.... rolled back 20 minutes but fixed

Try logging a different toon. This may force your toon out of the server, as one toon from an account can only be active at a time. If this does not work, you will have to contact a GM somehow.

Same trouble here. Best thing is you check the online info it tells you the GM should handle it and you try to get one of them to deal with it and you get the cookie cutter response to check online.

To contact Technical Support, please visit http://www.turbine.com/support and click on the flag appropriate to the language you would like support in. Click on the “Support Center” tab and then select “Submit a Ticket”. While filling out the ticket submission form, select DDO as your game, and “Tech Support” as your Support Team.

You submit another ticket and the response is the same. All they need to do is boot your other toon. Cant they see it is another character on your account and just boot them? Well 2 hours into the loop will let you know how long it takes.

Also to submit tickets you need to log in with another toon.
