Default Add the following to 20th Shroud End reward list:

A character bound 1 time use item that lets you tale your already constructed GS item/weapon and transfer it's enchantments to another GS item/weapon.

This is for those who may have hosed up a character real bad and need to fix it. (Like me.)

So... basically you want the 20th shroud list to include a true heart of wood?

I already suggested something like this idea here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=224696

Rather than have an additional item as end reward, my thought is just to allow the shrines to transfer the enchantments from one item, say a pair of kopeshes in my case, into a set of dwarven axes, and then I would feel much better about reincarnating as a dwarf. This must be a common problem when reincarnating to a different race for people who already have put a lot of time and effort into the green steel weapons and want to reincarnate as some other race and make use of those ratial benefits but decide it is just too much effort to do all that work totally over from scratch.

The method I favor is simple: justcombining the existing base with enchantments with the new base and a power source at a shrine. Alternatively a method to deconstruct the existing item back into the enhanced shards at the appropriate specific shrine and then you can just use them directly to build them into the new base following the current procedure. You still have the cost of making the new base that involves making a shavarath shard so there is still great time invested in runing the 5 prequests again, but not as much as the numerous shroud runs required to get the later enchantments.

Earlier this week a dev once again said there are no plans for any form of GS deconstruction. That's a pretty sad decision, especially in light of TR that may make old GS items obsolete and the lack of an ability to deconstruct/reconstruct will reduce people's inclination to TR.

Where was that said and by who? The introduction of TR has changed player needs, and therefore perhaps we can pursuade them to change the plans to accomodate the changes they made to game play.

From Eladrin in the thread about GS Deconstruction:

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...Deconstruction

At this time there are no plans for greensteel deconstruction.

Occasionally the compendium finds experimental proof-of-concept items that may or may not ever be fully fleshed out, and if it does the process is very unlikely to be as described on the "epic horn".

dont you see..the real reason for TR is to phase out old development mistakes and to get the player base grind grind grinding. The need to change old greensteel only ups the need to grind. If the player base is grinding out the added crazy xp in TR then grinding more shroud to update fresh greensteel...well then turbine did its job. That doesnt mean they helped the player base, but they lined their purses for a few more months. Did I say grind? Did you know the old advertisment line for this game went something like....a game that focuses on the adventure not the grind. It was true, but theyve borked it all up.

"Focus on adventure, not on grind!"

That's what it said on the box anyways.

    Thanks for the link Mav145.

I think that if we can explain to Eladrin why this would be a good thing since this issue is actually preventing people from using TR, propose reasonable methods that not over powered, not game breaking, and not difficult to program, we can win him over to the player side and he can win over whatever other powers that be to work it into the plans.

The TR thing changed game play and with all the effort involved in making greensteel weapons, there is a real need to be able to adapt them to the new game play they introduced.

Agreed....however the original content and up to about Gianthold was fantastic and did immerse me in the adventure. I wish there was a way to do it again, but i guess thats like trying to get your virginity back! Aint gonna happen
