The Turbine Download Manager:

I have been downloading DDO off the Turbine Download Manager as opposed to the full download.
I've had it open for 3 days and I still can't leave the starter isle which was done within minutes..

And no I'm not on Dialup, I have a 10mbp/s down connection so it should be downloading rightly fast... Why can I still not leave the bloody starter isle?

TDM is a very crappy piece of software. I had all kinds of connection and downloading problems with it in LOTRO making that game unplayable for the first few weeks. After contacting Turbine support even their tech guy told me it was buggy sometimes and he gave me the link to get LOTRO without TDM. LOTRO had run great ever since for me.

I also remember TDM one time corrupting alot of files on an update and basically fubaring the files installed on your computer as well, making those unfortunate enough to DL the patch early (before they caught the error and fixed it) have to re-install the entire game (which at that time was like a 14 hr DL).

TDM is a dog. Don't use it is my advice.
