    And that's because the airships cost money. From what I have seen lately, DDO is all about the store now.(not neccesarily bad) So, while I have agreed with the OP's and many others request to change the way teleport works, it will probably never happen.

    How about start you off with a the current locations.
    Then allow the caster to "buy" extra locations from the store. Now how those extra locations are used, I like all the above ideas, mainly allow us to set the bind point where we are standing.

    My light monk has always had a very good UMD - good enough to reliably scroll teleport by the time I got to Reaver's Refuge. When I first went there with my Favored Soul I hadn't picked up scrolls yet as they were still around 35-40% (funny how my monk was always higher than my FvS - even at the cap - but that's another story). I had to ask my guild how to get out of Reaver's Refuge as I'd never actually done it the hard way.

    I could never play a character without some semblance of UMD. This is definitely one of the big reasons why.

    And another shameless bump in that process.

    This is no World of Walking game. Teleport should get a decent fix for conveniences sake. And ops suggestion would be a final fix for this.

    For TPing to bind points /signed

    For TPing to any /loc /Not signed - Turbine would have to scrap the winter festival and easter egg chase as arcanes would just TP from Purple/Gold collectible to the next

    For Greater TP in public areas /signed - again to previously visited bind points.

    Bind points seem the most obvious, there is one in every major area. Why TP to House K bank when you can GTP to Necro (or Sands) or TP to Meridia where in addition to the bank there are vendors and AH close by too. I find I rarely use House K, D & J TP destinations.

    TP (and GTP) should definatly include Guild Airchip as a location too.

    Bind point teleporting is just as bad as static points (see many posts above for reasons). But by all means, if you are happy with those points, then feel free to set them as your own when they finally fix teleport - that's the beauty of the system, everyone gets their perfect set of points!

    As for the exploiting of seasonal events, the easter egg hunt is its own 'instance'. They could just tag it as a combat zone and viola! - no teleporting. The winter/coin festival thing is a bit more tricky; it would require a bit more thought to bring in line(tag the coins as combat locations/coordinates?), but for goodness sake, to throw out something which would be of use to thousands of players on a daily basis solely because it might interfere with an ocassional seasonal event is just bad thinking.

    I would think that marking your own teleport locations could lead to exploits and other less then desirable effects that Turbine probably does not want.

    I had this ability in UO and while it was handy it also helped out plat farmers, griefers and a host of other side effects. Since it was not done this way originally in DDO im uncertain they could do it without major disruptions to the game.

    Its not a big deal...compared to other MMO's travel here is pretty trivial.


    I would like to see much bigger problems addressed then something minor like travel.


    Now having said that some newer locations would be nice.

    Um there is the royal guard mask (teleport clickly usable by any toon)
    Teleport wands (usable by any toon)

    So while you may have envy...the underlying problem is lack of game knowledge.


    All 20 of my toons can teleport in one fashion or another. Even the lvl 4 bank toons.

    since this is self-only and limited to non-combat areas, i can't see how this could possibly lead to exploits or griefing. is there an example you can provide?

    Indeed, but it might be also fun to allow the adding of instance-based locations as well, but only usable while the that specific instance is active.

    Yeah I read this one before and it is a good idea, the only problem would be if they actually changed the maps and you went to RECALL point X you could end up inside a wall.
    But the way past that is to make the spell do what the description says, it detects if the space is indeed free otheriwse you get a teleport error.


    As I said in another thread teleport errors should also dump you in other strange spots not just high above the marketplace.



    They could also allow dimension door to act the same way in dungeons, even if this may lead to abuse of the function.

    You have 2 modal options for dimension door.

    "Remember location"
    "Open dimension door to location"

    Greater Teleport to the Twilight Forge on harbor. Newbie acepts and can't leave because his level is too low to enter the restless isles tunnels.

    Meridia is locked until you go there. The other areas aren't.

    I heard its possible to use bracelet of friends to pull someone inside the tavern in threnal even if you dont have the pack. If you "accidentally" bind on this tavern, not even /death works.
