dex build that primarily uses weapons that can't be finessed?

That's not typically a good idea. Unless your goal is to simply suck at combat... which... incidentally is never a good goal in this game. You can do equal strength and dex... but since you'll be using damage and to hit off strength, it will still be a 'strength build'

    Horrible choice, don't do it.

You might as well make a CHR,WIS, and INT based barb.

Currently there is only 1 Quarterstaff that lets you use Dex. It's raid loot from the Abbot.

so the dex is a no go i was planning on 19 dex, ok will rethink this thanks. was planning to use handwraps and quarterstaves. when needed like ghost touched and such.

just want to do allot of damage, and have high AC. so thought dex, and high wis. with staves later, and unarmed for the 1d20 at lvl 20 would be okay. now i am confused. hehe

Typically unarmed is what you want to do on a monk. Fastest attacks, highest base damage, stunning fist, quivering palm, etc. Take twf, itwf, and gtwf for the extra attacks. Switch to kamas for vorpal and things you can't get on handwraps if you need to.

If you want a a guy that uses a quarterstaff, try a str based acrobat rogue.

    ... just my opinion.

if they do indeed add longswords like Ebberon has; and the rumour. then i want to be able to maybe even use them.

the rogue idea i like. but too str based ( i like dex builds ) for me. man you have all confuzed the hell outta me lol.

i think i need to look for builds on dex vs str for monk.

and now for a rogue who uses a big stick lol. thanks now i wont sleep at all...

I believe the Shining Crescents from the Titan also count as a Finessable Quarterstaff for things like Monk Centering and Acrobat attack speed boost. However, they still use strength for damage, unlike the Abbot Staff.

However, if they expect for this to be considered a viable build option, they need to provide more options at lower levels and outside of raids. A few more utility weapons would be nice as well. Perhaps it's time to revisit the idea or a Finessable staff enhancement.

It would be painful to level up until you're high enough level to do regular Titan and Abbot runs before you get a decent weapon.
