What happen to katana?

I was just checking out those exotic weapon feats and couldnt find specialize or skill in katanas, what happen to them?

1. That's not relevant to my.ddo.com, which is a "social networking" website.
2. In D&D a katana is called Bastard Sword. It is a poor weapon choice in D&D, and a much worse one in DDO.
3. It would be reasonable for the DDO devs to add some specific enhancements to make Bastard Swords worthwhile, but they haven't yet.

PS. If you want an exotic slashy weapon in current DDO, get Khopesh. It's no contest.

Yeah i perfer using 1h weapon, for shield or dual wield. I didnt think katanas belong to Bastard Sword group. I would love to have a pair of Wakizashis for my japanese girl. Oh well nothing i can do about it.
